The Divorce Prescription

Chapter 641

Adam had met Celine years ago.

Carly refused to believe it. She shook her head and shouted, "No, that's

impossible! Celine, you're lying to me, aren't you?"

Celine looked at her with an amused smile. "Ms. Hampton, as the daughter of the wealthiest man in the Capitol, you might want to watch your manners and composure. Don't you think you're coming off a bit bitter?"

Carly stiffened.

The people around them turned their attention to Carly, whispering among themselves. "Does Ms. Hampton have a grudge against Linny? She looks like she can't stand seeing anyone else succeed."

"Ms. Hampton might be the lucky heir of a wealthy family, but Linny is the true heiress, born with a spotlight on her. She's the main character in her own life, and Ms. Hampton just can't compare."

"Not only is Ms. Hampton not as capable as Linny, but she isn't as pretty either. It's clear to see, and honestly, I can understand why Ms. Hampton's acting so out of it-she's jealous."

"Well, Ms. Hampton should've been more graceful about it. She represents the Hampton family now-she can't afford to embarrass them with such petty behavior."

As the murmurs grew louder, Carly's face turned deathly pale.

Just then, Melody snapped, "Celine, why didn't you tell us earlier that you were Linny? You did this on purpose to humiliate us, didn't you? You're so cruel!"

Celine looked at Melody with a hint of disbelief. "You all literally walked right into it. If I didn't take the opportunity, wouldn't I be disappointing you? And Melody, if I recall correctly, you weren't even invited to the Apex Gala. You just tagged along with Carly."

Melody froze. She had indeed only gotten in by tagging along with Carly.

At that moment, the event manager stepped up. "Ms. Alvarez, this is a prestigious gathering, and only qualified people are allowed to attend. I must ask you to leave immediately."

The organizer escorted Melody out.

Melody was stunned. She never expected that instead of Celine being the one kicked out, she would be the one escorted out.

Among the crowd, Melody spotted the wealthy bachelor who had asked for her number earlier. He looked her up and down, his gaze now filled with disdain.

The man who had once shown interest in her now saw her as beneath him.

Melody clenched her fists. "Celine, you—"

Celine smiled and addressed the event manager. "I think Ms. Alvarez doesn't want

to leave on her own. Could you please escort her out?"

"Yes, Ms. Linny."

At the wave of her hand, two security guards stepped forward, grabbing Melody by both arms.

"Please leave the premises immediately, Ms. Alvarez," they said.

Melody felt like she was suffocating.

The event was filled with the most powerful and influential people. Being publicly thrown out of the prestigious Apex Gala was a humiration she could never live down.

Melody looked toward Adam and Carly for help. "Adam, help me! Carly, help!"

However, Adam said nothing, and Carly was too concerned about her own situation to speak up.

Soon, Melody was escorted out of the venue.

The event manager turned to Celine. "Ms. Linny, we're terribly sorry for the inconvenience."

Celine smiled politely. "It's no trouble, just a minor interruption."

The event manager turned back to the guests. "Ladies and gentlemen, the Apex Gala will now continue."

Immediately, a crowd gathered around Celine.

"Ms. Linny, I've heard so much about you. It's an honor to finally meet you."

Celine nodded politely.

Just then, Adam approached. "Celine, I didn't expect you to be Linny."

Celine raised an eyebrow. "Mr.

Alvarez told you before-det

need your help. Lean handle things on my own."

Adam smirked. She certainly could. She didn't need to depend on any man-she was the elite.

He extended his hand. "Linny, it's a pleasure."noveldrama

Celine shook his hand confidently. "Mr. Alvarez, the pleasure is mine."

Carly felt her blood boil as the two shook hands under the bright lights. Celine had become the center of attention, surrounded by Adam and everyone else.

Meanwhile, Carly was left ignored.
