Nellie turned away, keeping her emotions in check, and said, "I'll head off now."

Meanwhile, Mirabella noticed Nellie hadn't replied, so she put her phone away. She turned her attention to Cassie, who was sprawled out on the bed, saying nothing for a moment.

Cassie, feeling uneasy under her gaze, asked cautiously, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Mirabella arched an eyebrow and lowered her legs. "No reason."

"I don't buy it," Cassie muttered, feeling like his sister was brewing some grand scheme.

Mirabella brushed off his suspicion and changed the subject, "What's going on with school?"

"Those assignments are a breeze. I talked it over with Mr. Hammond, and I'll just study at home and go straight to the finals," Cassie shrugged.

With finals about a month and a half away, Mirabella nodded, "Sounds good."

She thought for a moment, then texted Nick, asking where he got the study materials he'd given her a couple of years back.

Cassie should focus on what students should do, she figured. Three boxes of tough study materials were absolutely essential. Unaware of the avalanche of work coming his way, Cassie took the
