Chapter 891
Matthew felt as if he was introduced to a new world and was met with a lot of interesting things.
Soon, the sky turned dark, and the lights in the house were switched on. But Matthew was still holding onto a golden plaque as he persistently studied it.
After he was done reading the last golden plaque, Matthew let out a long sigh. "Finally, I've finished reading."
Ansel sighed right after him and said, "Seriously? You only finished reading after I woke up from my nap?"
Matthew placed the golden plaques into a wooden box and gave the box to Ansel. "I've completed my mission from the Presetian Sect now."
Ansel placed the box aside and said, "You completed seven of the missions out of all the Eight Medical Sects. You can finally meet your mentor after you round up the medical literature and token from the Harmona Sect."
Hearing Ansel talk about Nicholas, Matthew got a little excited. He had a lot he wanted to ask his mentor, and he wanted to understand more about Nicholas' past. The moment he had been waiting for was finally nearing.
"I hope I can finish off the last mission quickly," Matthew said.
Then, Ansel sighed and said, "The Harmona Sect is a little too complicated to deal with. We can't really tell if they're using traditional medicine or modern medicine. The lines between those two are kind of blurred."
There would be a dispute every time Matthew heard people mentioning Harmona Sect. But he said, "If the Harmona Sect is a part of the Eight Medical Sects, doesn't it mean that they're under traditional medicine? There shouldn't be any doubts over that, right?"
The wrinkles on Ansel's face emerged when he started to frown, his gaze looking a little conflicted. "You're still too young. That's why you don't understand just how complicated things can be.
"Did you know? Someone said that the Harmona Sect is a traitor of traditional medicine. But another mentioned that the Harmona Sect is neither an advocate for traditional medicine nor a follower of modern medicine.
"Instead, it's a hybrid of traditional medicine and modern medicine. I know that you like the Harmona Sect a lot, but please don't openly show your support for them when you have yet to understand how they function completely. You might get attacked for it."
Matthew was a little surprised to hear that. He had learned some of the Harmona Sect's medical skills from Nicholas, but he didn't know that they were such a controversial topic.
Still, it didn't bother Matthew that much. "Honestly, it doesn't matter which sect you learn your medical skills from because all is fine as long as you heal someone."
Ansel looked at Matthew worriedly. "You never know how wicked some people can be."
Matthew then nodded and said, "Well, that's true. I don't have much experience, but I definitely know how wicked some people can be.
"For example, there's this one person who didn't give a shit about others and only ever cared to get his hands on medical literature. He didn't even bat an eye when his father died, and he also locked all the formulas up in his safe.
"Another example is sending a perfectly healthy person to a psychiatric hospital. There's also one more-"
Just then, Ansel interrupted him and
said, "You don't have to tell me all this. They're nothing compared to the people who are truly nefarious. You'll come to understand that a few decades later because the amount of evil a human can possess will terrify you so badly that the thought of it will send chills down your spine.
"The cruelty you face will leave you frozen in fear, and the despair you feel will
make you question your very existence itself."
Ansel had a stoic face when he narrated the experience, but there seemed to be hints of affliction hidden beneath his eyes.
Matthew didn't know just what Ansel
had gone through to make such appalling remarks. But he knew that Ansel was looking out for him, so he nodded seriously and said, "I understand. I'll try not to reveal my bias. They won't be able to attack me if they don't understand my stance."
Ansel began to smile all of a sudden. "Oh, there's something I forgot. It would make sense for you to stay low-key if you were an ordinary citizen. But you're a Juprus, and your path is destined to be filled with thorns and hardship.
"Still, you're meant to shine boldly, so cut down all of those ignorant fools whenever you cross paths with them!"noveldrama
