The Journalist (2)
I know it’s a lot to ask, but I think it’s the right thing to do. Please, can you help me?” Alejandro asked.
His journalist friend didn’t answer.
Alejandro waited, the silence in the air between them.
“I understand if you don’t want to do this. But please, think about it. I’ll be in danger if I do this alone.” Alejandro said.
“The journalist friend sighed.
“I’ll help you. But this is not going to be easy.” The journalist friend said.
“I know. Thank you so much. I can’t tell you how much this means to me.” Alejandro said.
“So, what’s the plan?” The journalist friend asked.
“The plan is to write the article and make sure that it gets the attention it deserves. I have some contacts in the media who can help us with that.” Alejandro said.
“Okay, I’m ready to do this.
“First, we need to make sure that your identity is protected. Do you have a pen name that you use for your writing?” Alejandro asked.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
“Yes, I use the pen name ‘Lara Carter’ for all of my articles.” The journalist friend said.
“That’s good. So, we’ll write the article under that name. No one will know that it’s you. And we’ll use a VPN to mask your IP address so that no one can trace it back to you.” Alejandro said.
“That’s a good idea.
After a while, Alejandro cut the call.
“He’s agreed to write the article.” Alejandro said.
“Okay! We are getting closer to getting those sons of bitches once and for all.” Alfonso said.
“Easy there big guy. Let’s hope this works first.” Raven said
“Let’s hope it does guys.” Alfredo said.
The atmosphere in the room was tense, and everyone was on edge. They knew that what they were doing was risky, but they also knew that it was the right thing to do.
They all hoped that their plan would work and that they would finally be able to expose the truth.
“Okay, so now that the article is being written, we need to figure out how to get it published.” Alfredo said.
“I have a few ideas about that. But first, we need to make sure that we’re protected. I’m worried that Rizzo and his people will try to stop us.”
“I think we need to put together a plan to make sure that we’re safe. What if we set up a dead drop for the article?
We could publish it anonymously and then send it to all of the major news outlets.” Raven suggested.
“That’s a good idea, but how do we make sure that the article is protected once it’s out there? What if someone tries to take it down?” Alejandro asked.
“We could encrypt it and put it on a secure website.
“That’s a great idea, but we’ll need someone who knows about encryption to help us. Do you know anyone who could do that?” Alfredo asked.
“I do. I have a friend who is a computer security expert. I think he’d be willing to help us. I’ll call him.” Raven said.
Alfredo and Alejandro nodded in agreement. They all knew that this was the only way to ensure that their plan would work.
Raven picked up his phone and called her friend.
“Hi, my name is Raven and I’m a friend of Richard’s. I’m calling because I need your help with something.” Raven said.
“Sure, what do you need help with?” The computer security expert asked.
“It’s kind of a big ask, but I need your help encrypting a document. It’s really important that it stays safe and secure.” Raven said.
“No problem, I’m happy to help. Can you tell me more about what you need?” The computer security expert asked.
Raven explained the situation to the computer security expert and asked if he could help them set up a secure website to host the article.
The expert agreed and offered to set up a virtual private network (VPN) for them as well.
“That’s great, thank you so much. This is really important to us. Can I ask you a favor though? We need to keep this a secret. Can you promise not to tell anyone about what we’re doing?” Raven asked.
“Of course, my lips are sealed. I promise not to tell anyone about this.” The computer security expert said.
“Thank you so much, this means a lot to us. I’ll send you the document as soon as it’s ready.” Raven said.
“No problem, I’ll be here when you need me. And don’t worry, I’ll make sure that everything is secure.” The computer security expert said.
Raven hung up the phone and turned to the others.
“He’s going to help us! We’ll be able to publish the article and no one will be able to trace it back to us or to your journalist friend.” Raven said.
“That’s great news!
“Now we just need to make sure that the article is well-written and that it’s credible. We don’t want anyone to think that it’s fake.” Alfredo said.
“That’s a good point. We need to make sure that everything is factual and well-sourced. We don’t want to give anyone any reason to doubt the article.” Raven said.
“I have an idea. Why don’t we add links to credible sources throughout the article? That way, people can easily check the facts for themselves.” Alejandro suggested.
“Yes, so that anyone who clicks the link would be taken straight to all Ramos recordings of him admitting his crimes as well as Don Rizzo’s crimes of dating an underage.
Let’s see him stop or delete the article.” Alfredo said
“That’s brilliant! Adding links to the article would give it even more credibility. People would be able to see for themselves that everything we’re saying is true.
And it would be almost impossible for Ramos or Don Rizzo to stop the article from being published.” Raven said.
The others nodded in agreement. They were all excited about the idea and could see how it would be a powerful way to share the information they had uncovered.
“Now we just need to start writing the article. When did your journalist friend say the article would be ready?” Raven asked?
“My friend said the article will be ready in a week. That gives us plenty of time to write it and make sure it’s perfect.
We need to make sure that we have all the facts and that everything is well-organized. I think we should start by outlining the article and making sure we have all the information we need. Then we can start writing it.” Alejandro said.
“That sounds like a great plan. And we need to make sure that we have a strong opening and a compelling conclusion.
“Let’s see how Don Rizzo and Ramos would get out of this one.” Alfredo said
