The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving

Evelyn looked sideways at Lucas.

As he supported Maria by the arm, Evelyn saw a spot of brown lipstick stain on his white collar.

Evelyn quickly pulled her gaze away.

Lucas had been shopping with Tiffany before he returned...

Did they kiss?

No wonder he looked like he was in quite a good mood. It turned out he had just returned from his lover's warm embrace.

"Stand together. Come, Evie, take his hand." Maria's voice pulled Evelyn back to reality.

Evelyn did not ask about it. She would be just humiliating herself if she did. All she could do was pretend that she did not see the lipstick stain.

As she looked up, she noticed that Maria was aiming her phone at them.

Seeing them standing together, looking like a couple match made in heaven, made Maria feel delighted. "I'll take a few photos of you guys, and I'll send some to Tessie."

Evelyn did not expect that her first photo with Lucas would be taken in a situation like this.

"As you wish." Lucas did not reject Maria, which made Evelyn feel a little surprised.

However, it made sense.

When Evelyn was the one who wanted to take photos in the past, he was not interested. Maria was the one who requested it this time, and Lucas had to go along with Maria's mood.

Maria asked Evelyn to take Lucas' arm, but Evelyn did not move a muscle at all.

Lucas shot a meaningful glance at her, but he did not say anything. He glanced at his watch twice, wanting to get it over and done with as soon as possible.

Maria was disappointed in Evelyn. She went up and put Evelyn's hand on Lucas' arm herself. "Now, we're talking. Give me a smile, you guys."

Feeling the solid muscle under her palm, Evelyn looked at the camera calmly.

There were barely any expressions on both Lucas' and Evelyn's faces. They were not smiling at all.

Maria urged them to smile a few times, but it was in vain. She had no choice but to just make do and just take the photo.

Maria got more and more delighted the more photos she took. She took quite a number of them in one breath until Lucas put his arm down. Evelyn pulled her hand back as well.

Maria started chatting with Tessie on the phone and said happily, "I've sent the photos to Tessie. I've sent them to you as well, Lucas. Forward them to Evie."

Lucas nodded and was about to head upstairs.

It was then Maria remembered something and said, "Tessie's grandson has had

his second child. They're having a sip-and-see party this weekend and invited the both of you."

Evelyn said nothing. She just looked at Lucas.

Tessie and Maria were of the same mind. Tessie had been quite friendly to Evelyn

in the past two years. Even if Evelyn and Lucas were divorced, she should congratulate Tessie.

As for whether they were attending the party or not, it was all up to Lucas.

Lucas looked back and answered in a relaxed manner, "Sure. Just send us the invitation."

Since he had already said so, Evelyn would not decline the invitation either. Seeing that Lucas was about to go upstairs, Evelyn ran after him.

Maria grinned from ear to ear after she saw that. They had only been married for three years. How great if they could be even more lovey-dovey with each other.

As Lucas entered the study, Evelyn stopped in her tracks.

"Mr. Grant, can I please have a few minutes of your time?" she asked.noveldrama

Lucas looked back at her and realized Evelyn was deliberately being courteous with him.

He let out a faint sigh. He probably thought it was interesting. A faint smile appeared on his thin lips as he asked, "What's the matter?"

"I need you to give me a precise answer about my grandmother's manor." Evelyn stood at the door and cut straight to the chase.

Lucas could do anything he wanted. However, Evelyn would not allow Deborah to find out about him and Tiffany. That was where she drew the line.

Lucas loosened his tie. He could tell Evelyn cared very much about this. He narrowed his eyes, looking at her while deep in his thoughts.

Evelyn thought he was going to give her a hard time again. She tightened her fists and said, "I've never asked you for anything in all the years I've been married to you. Just this one... Just-"

"Did I say I won't agree?" Lucas said calmly after he glanced at her and put one hand in his pocket.

Evelyn was stunned. "Really?"

Lucas looked at his watch again and said slowly, "She and her mother can have a better option."

Evelyn was a little surprised that Lucas would actually stop persisting.

The way she saw it, Millie was clearly trying to make things difficult. Of course, Tiffany would not give up either. It would make sense for Lucas to indulge Tiffany as he always did.

Evelyn could not wrap her head around it, and she subconsciously asked, "You're paying for it?"

Lucas looked at her casually and smiled. It seemed like he was laughing at her. He probably thought Evelyn was asking a question that she already knew the answer to.

It could not be any clearer. He had always been very generous to Tiffany.
