"Alexandra, you and I have known each other for more than 10 years, right?"

"And so?"

Pissed off, Alexandra attempts to walk away but Adams holds her arm.

"Let go" she states and he quickly loosens his grip

"That man earlier, who is he?"

"Which man?" Alexandra feigns ignorance of his question

"The man who was holding you the other day"

"Nathaniel, his name is Alpha Nathaniel Starkov"

"Right, so he's an Alpha"

"Isn't it obvious already?"

"Who is he to you? How did you two meet?"

Alexandra chuckles. "What's this? Q and A section. Before you interrupted my mind, I was having a moment of myself"

"Didn't I tell you that he's my mate? How we met isn't of concern to you Adams. What's your problem?"

"How sure are you that he's your mate?"

Alexandra chuckles. "Is this some sort of joke?"

"Of course not, Alexandra but seriously, think about it, he just shows up out of nowhere and claims to be your mate"

"Adams!" She yells, enraged. "Watch your words, I may condone anything but I won't let you badmouth my mate right before me. Isn't that petty even for someone like you"

"I'm sorry Alexandra if what I said offended you but all I'm trying to do is let you see the clearer picture staring down at you before you make a mistake"

"One more defamation from you and that's it, Adams"

"What have you turned into suddenly? Some Mr. Goody two shoes who seems to know it all" she glares

"That's not it, I have heard stories about Alphas like him. Men like him are cunning and deceitful"

"What about men like you? What category do you fall into?" She feigns to be in thoughts for a moment "Right, wicked and monstrous in nature"

"What?" Adams widened his eyes, that was a slap to his facenoveldrama

"What? Do you think you are better than him?"

Adams opens his mouth and attempts to say something but on second thought pushes it aside.

"Right, can't speak? Cat suddenly caught your tongue? I thought it was running a moment ago, thought you knew what was best for me. What a hypocrite, you who can't take away the rafter from your eyes, try to take away the straw from my own eyes. People like you disgust me a lot to the point I feel like throwing up"

"Please don't say that is me, Adams Hawthorn"

"So? You are Adams Hawthorn and so what? Do you think that name means anything to me? You are not my mate, you never were"

"Do you trust that man?"

"Yes and yes, a million yes. If I don't trust my mate, who then will I trust?"

"He doesn't know you the way I do, he doesn't know what you like. Your favorite food, your favorite color, what TV show you love. He knows nothing about you and

Alexandra whispers, cutting him off. "What's my favorite color?"

Adams scoffs. "Are you seriously asking me that?"

"What's my favorite game?"

"Alexandra"

"Answer the damn question"

"Do you honestly think I know nothing about you, I have known you for years"

"And so? The ones who claim to always know us, end up not knowing a thing about us so answer the question except of course you don't know"

"I know everything about you Alexandra"

"Then what is my favorite color?"

"Is green"

"Wrong, is white"

"But you once told me is green"

"Green is my mom's favorite color but never has it been mine. You don't know so drop the act"

"Ask me another thing"

"Are you a child? Do you have all day? Don't you have work or anything to do?". "Just ask me"

Alexandra scoffs, walking past him when he shoots sharply. "You love cereals, you love streaming Netflix and you are a fan of Leonardo da Vinci's"

Alexandra halts, looking at him, he smiled.

"I know you, Alexandra, I know everything about you"

"You were fortunate enough to get a few questions right. Don't hype yourself"

"Hype?" Adams scoffs unbelievably "Aren't you being a little too much?"

"What about you? Showing up here to act all chivalrous, isn't it petty?" "Alexandra!" He yells

"What? Did I bruise your ego? That's if you have any"

"I came here to talk to you, to reason with you"

"Did I ask you to? No. Did I invite you over? Certainly not. You came here out of your own free will, hoping to get something but failed woefully" Alexandra chuckles

"Alexandra you're -"

Alexandra shoots sharply. "Yes that's what I am so next time don't waste my time" she walks away smiling triumphantly, she could hear him screaming at himself but Alexandra couldn't care less.

Adams hurt her, if anything he deserves to be in pain every single day of his life, till nothing but scraps of him is left together with Olivia.

"They suit each other, fools," she thinks to herself as she walks out from the woods and into the busy road. A lot of things run through her mind, she never imagined Adams would dare approach her to talk about Nathaniel, she clenches her jaw, the mere thought ripping her apart. He was her mate now and soon they will get married and that alone would seal their bond so Alexandra would never let anyone badmouth Nathaniel right before her.

"He's truly my mate after all" she states as a smile creeps into her lips
