The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha

Chapter 17: The past that hunts

"Why him?"

"What?"

"He doesn't suit you Alexandra please, just don't do it"

She smirks seeing right through him. "Who do you think then should be the better man for me if it isn't my Nathaniel" she scoffs. "Don't tell me you think of yourself as the best candidate"

"I have a lot of outstanding qualities"

"Enlighten me, what makes you better than Alpha Nathaniel?"

"I don't know... I can't think of anything but think about this Alexandra, who will be

a better man for you. Didn't they say that the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know"

Alexandra rolls her eyes. "Don't delude yourself. There is also a saying that your worst enemy is those of your household or haven't you heard that?"

"I'm different"

"How so? Prove it" she scoffs ridiculously "You've been a colossal waste of my time" she tries to walk away when he holds her leg

"Please" he states almost breaking into tears "Don't marry him, Alexandra"

Staring intently at him, old memories jump into her head crippling her mind. Alexandra clenches her jaw as the horrifying pain of Adams's mistreatment in the past rips her apart.

He had hurt her leaving invisible scars on her heart and body and Alexandra couldn't just forget it all like it never happened.

Right before her eyes, he had watched him cheat on her with Olivia, while taking advantage of her young and innocent mind, he must have thought she was stupid and clumsy at that time but what he didn't know is the fact that she wasn't the same Alexandra he once knew.

The one he plotted against caused her to lose her sanity while he tore her apart, betraying her for his greed and insecurity. Alexandra inhales deeply as the memories settle in her mind reminding her of all he had done to her.

Without uttering a word, Alexandra leaves the room, slamming the door, hoping he would be gone by the time she goes back to her bedroom. Alexandra bumps into Olivia in the hallway.

"I was about to go and call you, breakfast is ready"

Bewildered Alexandra ask. "Who cooked?"

"There were some leftovers in the fridge, I just had to reheat them"

Alexandra nods affirmatively observing Olivia she could tell she was up to no good.

"Come on let's go"

"No you go ahead, I'm not hungry"

Olivia scoffs unbelievably. "You don't think I poisoned the food"

"That's your guilt speaking"

"Alexandra!" She states aloud "I'm only trying to be nice"

"You be nice" Alexandra chuckles. "Did Jezebel ever turn into a good person?"

"How dare you?"

"No, how dare you try to act nice in front of me Olivia. I can see right through you"

"What can you see?"

"Everything, you have no idea"

"Listen Alexandra I don't have time for your drama, I only came to call you for breakfast because your father asked me to, and left for me I wouldn't mind if you eat or starve to death"

"That's the Olivia Guerrero I know, the vicious one"

"What? Vicious! You're crazy, hurry down, he seems to have an announcement to make" Olivia walks away and Alexandra joins her wondering what Bernard had to say that involved her. If anything they didn't have that kind of relationship and Alexandra wasn't ready to build one either, not after what he had done to her in the past.

She was never going to forgive him, strolling into the dining, Alexandra takes her seat, glancing at Bernard she wonders what was running through his mind, and dropped her gaze locks eyes with Veronica who was pleased to have her eating at the same table.

"You seem to have quite the night that you let your sister make breakfast" Veronica takes a sip of her wine

"I cooked this, all she did was reheat it so I practically still made breakfast"

"Ha! Have you lost your mind?" Veronica yells

"Of course not but is seven in the morning and you are screaming, people may begin to whisper"

"Whisper?"

"Yes. They may start to say things like, is this woman crazy? Is she a nutcase? Is she losing her mind?"

"Alexandra!" She yells

"Yes" Alexandra whispers, rolling her eyes

"Did you just roll your eyes at me?"

"Alcohol is bad for old people"

Veronica scoffs, feeling her Adrenaline rushes up, and lowers the glass down to the table.

"So what you're saying -"noveldrama

"What am saying is drinking alcohol in the morning makes you see things that aren't real. Alcohol plays tricks on old people and makes it difficult for them to differentiate between reality and delusions"

"So what you're saying is that you didn't roll your eyes at me just now"

"Of course not, how will I roll my eyes on the Luna of the Guerrero pack"

"Alexandra! You -"

Bernard hits his fist against the table causing a wave of silence to erupt. Alexandra smiles, lifting her eyes, and locks eyes with Olivia.

"Let's eat in silence" Bernard states, cutting a piece of meat and chewing it. "Olivia said you wanted to make an announcement"

"Just have your breakfast and stop talking"

Alexandra glances at the food, observing it intently she suddenly loses her appetite.

"Why are you not eating?" Olivia smirks

Alexandra raises her brow wondering what she was scheming this time.

"Eat your breakfast" Bernard orders, gulping down a glass of water.

"Dad, Alexandra doesn't want to eat her breakfast" Olivia whines

Bernard seethes. "This is the reason we don't let you eat with us"

"I'm satisfied"

"Satisfied?" Bernard asks, curious

"Whether I join you or not, it doesn't change anything, I love it when I don't join you so please don't ask that I have breakfast with you again if it makes you uncomfortable"

"Uncomfortable?"

Alexandra nods affirmatively, standing up. "Is too early for me to have my breakfast anyway so I will just take my leave" she stands up locking eyes with Olivia, Alexandra smiles triumphantly, attempting to walk away when the doorbell suddenly rings.

"Are you expecting anyone?" Veronica asks

"No Honey I'm not" he lowers his cutlery "who could it be by this early hour of the day?" He whispers curiosity washed across his face.
