Chapter 8 Beating Her to Death

Pressing the answer button, James Taylor, her father, spoke in an annoyed tone.

“Evelyn, what did your sister do that you treat her like this?. You shouldn’t have been so ruthless. Get

to the hospital right now, or I’ll make you regret it.”

Truly grating!

Evelyn sneered and hung up.

Regardless of what mistakes she and Mia made, she always gets blamed, and Mia’s actions are

always deemed right.

In her previous life, she never understood why, even though she and Mia were born to different women,

they both were still his daughters. Yet, the difference in treatment was vast.

Mia finally revealed the truth just before her death.

This man only married Evelyn’s mother for her grandmother’s wealth, and when her grandmother left

most of it to Evelyn, he became even more disdainful of her.

Evelyn decided to make a trip to the hospital.

After all, the battle between her and Mia had just begun.

She dawdled until the sun was almost setting, then finally arrived at the hospital. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

“Mia, you need to eat more for your wounds to heal. When Evelyn arrives, Daddy will-”

“You will what? I’m already here.” Evelyn leaned against the door of the ward, casting a disdainful

glance at both of them.

“Evelyn? Watch your attitude.”

“Why don’t you come over and apologize to your sister? Do you know that she plays the piano with

those hands? Do you know she can’t have any scars on her body? You… you’re so vicious, causing

harm even to your own sister.” James’s face flushed

Evelyn couldn’t help but laugh.

Mia playing the piano?

She was always just putting on a show, while Evelyn acted as her stand-in, Evelyn is the one who truly

knows how to play the piano.

“Apologize to her? Impossible. I came here today just to see if she’s still alive. If she dies easily today,

how will we have fun next time?” Evelyn raised an eyebrow, her gaze fixated on Mia like she was

staring at a fish ready to be slaughtered.

James approached Evelyn. “I’ll cripple you now and see if you dare to talk about like this.”

He raised his hand and delivered a heavy and harsh slap to Evelyn’s face.

“Dad, don’t hit Evelyn.” Mia pretended to shout anxiously..

Evelyn didn’t even flinch. Her sharp eyes stared straight at James.

Even James was intimidated by her gaze, involuntarily retracting his palm.

Seeing that Evelyn hadn’t suffered, Mia felt a bit disappointed. However, she quickly switched to a

mournful expression. “Dad, I believe Evelyn didn’t mean to hurt me. Maybe… maybe she’s just in a bad

mood.”

Her voice grew softer, filled with a mix of grievances and fear. After speaking, she didn’t dare to look at

Evelyn.

Holding Mia, James couldn’t bear to see her feeling wronged. The anger he had just suppressed

surged again.

“She’s harmed you like this, and you’re still speaking up for her. Mia, you’re just too kind,” James said

earnestly.

Turning back, James stare at , Evelyn, treating her like an annoying piece of garbage.

Although Evelyn knew this would be the outcome, she still felt a bit disappointed. Her words came out

low and cold.

“I’ve only scratched her wrist a bit, and you can’t tolerate it?” Thinking about the scar on her back that

would never fade away, Evelyn raised her voice, “Do you know that I…”

“Are you bringing up old matters again? Your sister already said she didn’t intentionally burn you. Are

you still going to mention it?” James interrupted.

Mia was trying to help Evelyn light the candles, and then Evelyn’s dress caught fire. They two is about

a meter away from. How could the fire magically reached Evelyn?? It’s too obvious.

With a cold face, Evelyn said, “I will never forget it in my life.”

“You!”

Neither was willing to back down.

Mia just watched silently.

Her favorite thing since childhood was playing tricks on Evelyn. This time, if Evelyn dared to resist her,

she would crush her in one fell swoop.

“Dad, don’t blame Evelyn; it’s me…”

“Mia, stop talking. I’m gonna beat her to death.” James interrupted Mia, about to explode in anger. Just

then, his brother, Ethan Taylor, and sister-in-law, Shirley Galang, arrived.

“James, don’t get angry.” Ethan held his older brother.

Shirley affectionately comforted Evelyn in a low voice, “Don’t be afraid, Evelyn. We are here, your dad

won’t dare to do anything to you.”

Despite their outward support, Evelyn couldn’t feel a trace of warmth.

In her previous life, these two also stood by her side like today, but all the assets she held slipped away

like flowing water into Mia’s hands. Now, thinking about it, it was all deceitful schemes.
