Chapter 25

Walter and his team set out from the Lopez Group building.
At the same time, after the doctor mentioned Yvette's name, the one who had just mocked Shakira immediately interrupted. "No, it can't be Yvettel
Slowly, Shakira turned toward him, her lips curling into a faint, cold smile under her mask. She glanced at the name tag on his chest and asked, "Dr. Jenkins, tell me, why not?"© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
Dale shot a glare at the impolite doctor, whose name was Paul Jenkins, then he turned to Shakira with a warm, gentle smile, explaining in a soft tone. "Dr. Lonely Bird, here's the thing. The patient in the SVIP ward is one of our hospital's SVIP patients." "Have you heard of f the e Nelson family? They're one of the top five wealthy families in Crescentville with a history that goes back a hundred years. This patient is the daughter of the Nelson family, and the entire hospital takes her case very seriously." he continued. "The Nelson family hold Ms. Yvette Nelson in high regard, and they certainly aren't short on funds, so they wouldn't accept such experimental project... From his words, it was clear how influential the Nelson family was and how much they valued Yvette. Hearing this, Shakira's eyes darkened. "Mr. Tucker, don't waste your time explaining to her," Paul lifted his chin, glaring at Shakira with obvious hostility in his eyes. "She's just a nobody who came from nowhere and doesn't even dare show us her face. How could she possibly be a disciple personally taught by a medical giant? She's probably an imposter, don't fall for her tricks!" Dale froze for a moment and instinctively glanced at Shakira, suddenly realizing Paul had a point. Shakira had only shown him a letter upon entering, with no other evidence to prove she was truly Lonely Bird, not to mention that the authenticity of the letter couldn't be confirmed. After all, all, no one had ever seen who Lonely Bird truly was Shakira, of course, noticed the scrutinizing looks from Dale and the others.
She was about to speak when a nurse burst in, panting. "Mr. Tucker, bad news! Three patients just arrived in the ER. They're all vomiting blood for unknown reasons and have fallen into comas. It's serious, and the ER doctors are at a loss-they can't figure out the cause!" Dale's face instantly went pale. "Quick, gather all the hospital's internal medicine specialists right away!"
Paul spoke up at that moment, obviously setting Shakira up. "Mr Tucker, don't worry. Don't we have the famous Dr. Lonely Bird here with us?"
Dale's eyes lit up immediately, but a second later, hesitation returned. Paul's words had planted doubt in his mind about Shakira's identity. If Shakira wasn't really Lonely Bird, it could lead to a disaster to the entire hospital.
But before Dale could make up his mind, Shakira was already heading toward the nurse at the door. "Let's go. Take me
there."
The nurse didn't know who Shakira was, but after hearing the certainty in her voice, her anxiety inexplicably eased. She hurried to lead the way. "Wait! I haven't said anything yet!" Dale was flustered, quickly motioning for the other doctors to follow.
By the time they reached the ER, the special care unit was already in chaos. As Shakira walked through the automatic glass doors, the patient on the outermost bed immediately coughed up blood. Shakira narrowed her eyes and swiftly approached. Paul, a step behind, deliberately raised his voice. "Lives are at stake here. Don't pretend to know what you're doing if you FIL
don't."
His words caught the attention of everyone in the ER, and they all turned toward Shakira, suddenly feeling tense.
Ignoring him, Shakira walked right past the nurse and took the Hand of the bleeding patient, checking his pulse.
Seeing the way she was taking the pulse, Paul's face darkened slightly. He snorted, thinking to himself that this impostor seemed to have some skills after all.
He wasn't about to joke around when lives were on the line, so he joined the other experts in checking the other patients. Once they could determine the cause, the treatment would be straightforward.
Paul's reputation and skill were among the best in the hospital, which was why Dale had been so shaken by his earlier words.
He used
his stethoscope to check the patient's heartbeat and internal o***ns, quickly coming to a conclusion. "It's food poisoning. Send them for gastric lavage.
One of the ER doctors immediately
One of the
spoke up, "We initially suspected food poisoning as well, but they've only vomited blood -no other vomit, and no typical symptoms of food poisoning. Thanks for confirming the cause, Dr. Jenkins. Now we know what to do." Paul looked smug. "You're still lacking experience. Spend more time in the ER, and you'll figure things out, Get ready for the lavage..."
"If you send them for a gastric lavage, they'll just vomit more blood," Shakira interjected.
Paul's face darkened immediately. "What do you mean?"
Shakira had already taken the pulses of the other two patients. She calmly stated, "While the primary cause of their shock is indeed food poisoning, the blood vomiting is due to inflammatory lesions in the lungs. If I'm not mistaken, the three of them are close relatives and all I suffer from the same lung disease. "Nonsense!" Paul barked. "I didn't find any signs of lung disease in my examination. And you're claiming they're close relatives? Do you think you can figure all that out just by feeling their pulses? Ridiculous." Shakira glanced at him, shaking her head with a look of pity in her eyes. Without wasting time arguing, she pulled out a small pack of needles, rolled up the first patient's shirt, and prepared to administer acupuncture, "What are you doing?" Paul rushed over, about to stop her, but the nurse interrupted urgently. "The blood tests and respiratory pathogen results for all three patients are back. They do have lung disease." Paul froze. "What?"
He couldn't believe it, so he grabbed the test results, flipping through them quickly. His face went
blank
Still reeling from the shock, Paul was interrupted by the nurse's excited shout, "The patient's stopped vomiting blood
Everyone saw that after Shakira's acupuncture, the first patient's condition had stabilized. Shakira moved on to treat the other
Ten minutes later, all three patients were taken to the intensive care unit. Shakira was at the sterilization sink, calmly cleaning her hands and needles.
Dale rushed over, full of gratitude. "Dr. Lonely Bird, thank goodness you were here today. We'd be in serious trouble otherwise!" Misdiagnosing and mistreating patients was no small matter-it was a matter of life and death. Shakira turned slowly, looking at Paul, though her words were directed at Dale. "T'd like to see Yvette."
"Okay, Dr. Lonely Bird. Please follow me," Dale replied.

Paul watched as Dale, full of gespect. led Shakira away. Furious, he slammed his fist into the wall. He quickly pulled out his phone, typing and sending a message.
"Dr. Lonely Bird, this is the SVIP ward, Dale said as they arrived Our hospital only has two of these rooms, and this one has been reserved exclusively for Ms. Nelson by the Nelson family.
There was no need for Dale to explain-Shakira already knew how carefully the Nelson family cared for Yvette.
After a knock, they heard a response from inside, and the group stepped in. Seeing the lively room, Shakira smiled.
