The Untouchable Ex-Wife

"I... I don't know what you're talking about," Liam muttered guiltily, avoiding Leia's scrutinizing gaze.

"You must know what I'm talking about!" Leia refused to let Liam go and went straight to the point. "Look! Because of such a bind, you probably fell in love with Amber, who isn't related to you. Why can't Ren fall in love with Justin after spending a long time with him?"

"So, what's your point?" Liam didn't refute Leia. He was curious about what she was trying to say.

Leia reasonably explained her opinion, "I'm trying to tell you that things might not be as bad as you imagine. Even if you take Ren away and stop this ceremony, things might not be better either."

She was too timid to tell Liam that she regarded Renee and Justin's marriage in a favorable light because she found them similar. Similar people could at least lead a stable life though it might not be very passionate and exciting.

After leading a wandering life for such a long time, Renee needed steady happiness.

It was also why she was rather calm when Liam acted frantically as he tried to stop the engagement ceremony. "Maybe you're right." Liam heaved a sigh. "Justin was right. I shouldn't be the one who tries to take her away. Since the right person isn't here, it means that Renee's choice is right."

Naturally, he was referring to Stefan.

"I'm curious if Stefan will attend such a special event." Leia touched her chin, feeling complicated.

On the one hand, she hoped that the engagement ceremony could be carried out smoothly. Then, Renee could spend the rest of her life with Justin. On the other hand, she was secretly hopeful. If Stefan could come and take Renee away, Renee would not be let down given how much she loved him.

"We'll know once we go in and check it out." Liam raised his chin at Leia, and they walked toward the hall.

It was only half an hour before the engagement ceremony started. Everything was ready.

All the guests invited by the Baldwin family had already arrived. They chatted with each other. It seemed like a gathering of the rich and powerful people.

Both Liam and Leia attended the party on their family's behalf. They weren't that important in front of the other tycoons since they belonged to the younger generation. Not many people came over to talk to them.

"I wonder if none of the Hunt family members are here."

Leia held a glass of wine and walked around the hall but found no sight of the Hunt family.

"Isn't it normal?" he spat icily. "How could a man attend his ex-wife's engagement party? Isn't it very

embarrassing? If he wanted to come, he would have done that before Boss came to North City. He wouldn't wait until now."

"Hmph! What a coward! I hate him! I've never met such a cruel man. Could his love for Ren be fake?" Leia was so angry that she nearly broke the glass in her hand.
