Chapter 50 Leave
Chapter 50 Leave
Was he crazy? To think that he was doing this to a sickly woman! He grabbed his hair firmly and took a
deep drag on the cigarette. The smoke filled his lungs and he started to cough vigorously until it was
cold below his eyes.
He touched and it was a tear.
“We may have to send her to the hospital.” The doctor said carefully while looking at him.
His stare shot over like a lightning and his voice thundered through the room, “Then what are you
waiting for!”
Was she escaping through death? Mia didn’t think that she would survive this. She thought that she
was definitely going to die.
It was difficult for her to escape having encountered a demon such as William.
The nurse walked over and behind her was Tia Pearson who had been taking care of her for the last
few days. Tia brought a thermos container and placed it onto the table and smiled at her.
“Quickly eat some and recuperate your strength. Later you will be treated with curettage, it will hurt.”
The nurse reminded.
After resting for these few days, she has recovered somewhat. Tia laid out the dishes and was filled
with relief, “Miss Charles, you look much better today. I feel so relieved. In the last few days, I was so
worried when you were unconscious. The doctor described your condition as very serious. Thank
goodness that you are alright. I’ll tell boss afterward, he will definitely…” Before she could finish, she
saw Mia’s face change, and Tia quickly stopped.
Now when William’s name was mentioned, Mia didn’t hate him anymore. To forget someone, the best
way is to absolutely forget. Do not even hate, just forget.
Just treat it as a very long nightmare. Once you wake up, everything will be over. She wanted to quickly
recover and return to a normal life.
She lifted her head and asked the nurse, “Excuse me, is there any other treatment after curettage?”
The nurse shook her head and changed her bottle of the IV drip and said, “No need. Your body has
recovered well. Once curettage is done you can go home and recuperate.”
She nodded and took over the chopsticks brought by Tia and forced herself to eat some more.
She followed the nurse along the long corridor and towards the operating room. She looked back and
saw James. He was standing next to the nurses' station joking with some nurses. He was handsome
and uninhibited except for some bruise at the corner of his eye. Was he injured by William the other
day?
Hasn’t he recovered after so many days? She slowed down her steps due to her concern for James.
A beautiful red image blocked her view and she softly said, “James, you’re here to flirt with the nurses
again!”
The woman turned and it was that elegant face of Sophia. Her face was pinkish and clearly well on her
way to a healthy recovery. Her curly hair was over her shoulders and flowed flawlessly as she moved.
She was extremely perturbed when Sophia appeared and she quickened her footsteps. But she could
still hear her voice, “Hey, your face is injured? William also has an injury on his face. Did you two fight?”
“How could it be!” James’ voice was very gentle and entirely different from when he was joking with the
nurses. He was even slightly doting towards her.
In their few interactions, other than Mia’s respect towards James, she started to have an affection for
him. But based on her instincts as a woman, she suddenly felt that James liked Sophia.
This feeling wasn’t good.
As she walked into the operating room, although she was given an anesthetic, when the cold apparatus
entered her body, it was so painful that she broke out in cold sweat. She clenched her teeth as she told
herself, “Don’t hate, don’t hate, don’t hate!”
She just wanted to forget!
Drenched in a cold sweat, she got off the operating table and was so weak that she almost collapsed.
She refused the help of the nurse and leaned on the wall as she walked out and sat on a chair.
“You may leave after completing 3 bottles of IV drip.” The nurse left after saying.
Mia braced herself to endure the pain and slowly stood up. She walked along the corridor but didn’t go
back to the patient's room. Since she was feeling better, she should leave.
She didn’t tell anyone and walked directly out of the hospital. She was still very weak and was out of
breath just walking that distance. She looked at the cars going by and eventually gave up the thought
of looking for Brooke.
As long as the threat of William lingers, she can’t risk troubling her best friend. She continued aimlessly
for a moment and then hailed a taxi.
At the top floor of the Elements group and in the Director’s office, William sat on the comfortable
executive chair. He twirled a pen in his hand and was emotionless. Perhaps more accurately, his
expression was buried in his heart.
Mia has left. Tia called to report that.
The handsome face had a bruised split lip. This was the injury after fighting with James. He had fought
numerous times with James but this was the only time he was so forceful.
His mouth twitched due to the pain but more due to his frustrations. James’s warning continued to ring
in his ears, “You already have Sophia so don’t drag on with Mia. Last time I can understand your
actions because Sophia was sick and cannot satisfy you. But now she has already recovered so you
must be true to her…”
Sophia has recovered, recovered very quickly. She’s beautiful, warm, healthy. He should be contented.
James was right, Sophia was Sophia, Mia was Mia. He shouldn’t confuse the two. That’s why he
needed to let Mia go.
Yes, Sophia will always be his Sophia. How can the love that they had nurtured since young be
replaced by Mia? He closed his eyes and sighed and tried to rest on his chair.
The door was gently opened and Sophia walked in wearing a long red dress. She had a smile on her
face and the red reflected in her face. She saw William sleeping and she thoughtfully took a blanket
from the rest bedroom to cover him.
Though she was very light with her actions, it still startled William awake. When he saw Sophia, his
expression was gentle and with a raspy voice asked, “Why are you here?”
“I’m here to see you.” Sophia giggled as she pulled on the blanket over him. She continued, “Isn’t there
a rest bedroom? If you are tired why don’t you go in to rest?”
She looked at the bedroom and William grabbed her hand and said, “I just fell asleep.” After Mia left, he
has never gone inside again. Her scent was too strong. He was afraid that he will be captivated by her
scent and can’t resist looking for her.
Sophia mischievously sat on his lap and held onto his neck and pouted her lips, “William dear, I’ve
already recovered. The doctor said that I’ve fully recovered.”
“Okay.” He was distracted as he held onto her waist.
Sophia clung onto his body and her face began to blush in red, “Then can we start to live together?
Mother and grandpa want us to have a baby. If we start now, I should be able to get pregnant in time
for grandpa’s birthday.”
William suddenly came to his senses and his hand which was on her waist froze. Sophia immediately Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
leaned forward and pressed her lips onto his. Compared to Mia, she was direct, skilled, and bold.
William was uncomfortable and tilted his face away. Sophia was shocked and hurt while staring at him.
She already started to tear and said pitifully, “William dear.”
Why did he think of Mia? He shook his head and tried to forcibly shake Mia’s image out of his mind. He
held up her head and kissed her.
Sophia started to pant as she was being kissed and she enjoyed being in William’s embrace. Her hand
grabbed his shirt and reached into to caress his body to arouse him.
William wasn’t aroused at all. He suddenly felt that his love for Sophia was like a brother to a sister. He
couldn’t take a step further. That’s why he couldn’t have any intimate relationship with her like a
husband and wife should.
He grabbed Sophia’s hand and stopped her actions. Sophia lifted her head and was unsettled, “William
dear, don’t you like it?”
He looked at her and composed himself with a calm expression and smiled, “You still need to
recuperate some more. Be good, don’t be too anxious. Getting pregnant is a matter of time. Don’t rush
it.”
Sophia was upset but didn’t vent it out on William. She listened to him and nodded, “Okay, I’ll listen to
you, William dear.”
Three months later.
The setting sun cast long rays over the villages in the mountainous area as if they were covered with a
layer of pink yarn. The farmers in the field got out of the mud and prepared to go home.
Mia glanced and saw the look of several dozens of children looking at her. They looked at her with their
innocent eyes, thirsting for her knowledge.
“Let’s sing again the song that we just learned.”
Immediately the classroom roared with the children’s voice and they sang their way into her heart. This
was one of the Hope Primary Schools in the mountain. Her primary duty was the school’s doctor and
she taught music to several classes.
After leaving the hospital, she chanced upon recruitment for teachers and she decided to apply for it
and eventually ended up there.
The living conditions there were very poor but she was very happy. She had no worries and troubles
being with the children. They were innocent, kind, and easily moved her. She loved the children and the
children loved her.
The classroom door was gently pushed open and a sixty-plus-year-old school principal stood outside.
She looked on with satisfaction and nodded, “A teacher from the city is indeed different. Just look, how
well is she teaching.”
Mia laughed and headmaster Moss remembered something and said, “Just now a student fainted
during physical lessons, can you have a look at her?”
“Okay,” Mia replied and handed the book to headmaster Moss and left.
In the treatment room, a senior female student lay on the bed and Mia examined her as she asked her
some questions. Thereafter she took out some medicine and gave the accompanying teacher, “Jessie,
she’s having low blood sugar. You must remind them to eat breakfast before coming to school.”
Jessie sighed and said to Mia, “You should also know that these kids live very far away. If they wake up
late they don’t have time to make their breakfast to eat. The family members are busy. Who will take
care of them?”
“How can they not eat? They are all growing.”
After coming here then she realized how fortunate the kids in the city were. Mia looked painfully at the
skinny girl and thought for a while before saying, “We can build a canteen at the school. In this case,
the kids can eat in school. We can also let them live in school.”
“It’s not that easy. The school was built with donated funds. Where do we have the means to build
these?”
Jessie supported the student out and Mia’s heart continued to sigh.
