Chapter 304
Finnian's voice was as cold as a winter's night. "Do you really value Keith that much?"
"Of course," Amara replied instinctively.
From childhood to now, the two people who treated her the best were Keith and Elysia. How could she not value Keith?
Her response was quick and unwavering, which seemed to twist something in Finnian's expression.
Just then, a gentle voice chimed in, "What are you two up to?"
Amara turned her head to see Liliana walking over with the grace of a swan, naturally linking her arm with Finnian's.
For some reason, Amara felt a twinge of discomfort. She scoffed inwardly but didn't show it on her face. Instead, she turned on her heel and walked away.
Finnian watched her retreating figure, his eyes as dark as a moonless night.
Liliana, slightly intimidated by his aura yet unwilling to let go, looked up and asked, "Finn, what's up? Did you and Ms. Sullivan have a fight?"
"No," Finnian replied, freeing his arm from hers and heading inside.
As she watched him stride away, Liliana bit her lip in frustration before following him in.
As a movie star, she usually outshone everyone at these gatherings. Yet today, all eyes were on Amara-someone she considered far less attractive than herself. Liliana was fuming.
But there was nothing she could do about it. How was she supposed to change the situation?
Amara had no idea why Finnian thought Keith liked her. It was utterly baffling!
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Even during dinner, she was seething. But soon enough, plenty of people came over to chat with her, leaving her no time to stay mad. After the dinner party wrapped up, she drove home.
The following days went by without a hitch until Tuesday afternoon. Amara received an anonymous call from a woman who sounded like she was in her forties or fifties. She shouted right away:
"Ms. Sullivan, you need to come over, quick! The lady and the gentleman are fighting!"
The voice was unfamiliar, and Amara paused for a moment before asking, "Who is this?"
"I'm the housekeeper for the Hawke family. Just now, Mrs. Hawke and Mr. Dorian got into a fight." Sensing Amara's potential confusion, the older woman made sure to mention Elysia and Dorian's names.
Amara was startled and quickly asked, "How are they now?"
She didn't know the Hawke family's housekeeper at all, and there's an old saying that you don't air your dirty laundry in public. For the housekeeper to share this, thingsnoveldrama
must be pretty bad.
"I can't explain over the phone. The gentleman and lady both ran out just now,
and I can't find them. I'm worried. Could you come over?"
"Alright, I'm on my way!"
Amara ended the call, grabbed her keys and phone, and rushed out the door, driving as fast as she could to Elysia and Dorian's new place.
When she reached the lobby, she was frantic, but there was Finnian waiting by the elevator.
She blinked in surprise. "What are you doing here? Did the housekeeper call you too?"
Finnian nodded, and without further questions, Amara joined him in the elevator.
Once inside Elysia's home, both Amara and Finnian froze at the sight before them.
The once beautifully decorated living
room was a disaster zone. Everything was smashed to bits, the couch covers and curtains ripped down. Most alarming of all, there was a pool of blood on the floor.
"Whose blood is this?" Amara shouted immediately.
What do you think?
