CHAPTER 73
Chapter 0073
Calvin couldn’t understand why Hansel had done all those things when he actually couldn’t bear to part with Miranda.
In the end, the person who’d ended up in a bind was Hansel himself!
Miranda’s apartment was a mess after Hansel had shown up unannounced last night.
After he left, she cleaned the place thoroughly. Since it was late by the time she was done, she decided against going to the library. Instead, she did her revision by solving two questions that day.
For dinner, Miranda prepared two tortilla wraps, but she couldn’t finish them, By the time she finished cleaning up the kitchen and sat down, it was already 8:00 pm.
She planned on solving another question before going to bed. As she was setting her alarm, her phone vibrated.
She checked her phone and saw that someone had sent her a friend request. The person’s profile only displayed the name “Sam Cooper“.
Miranda blinked in confusion. She couldn’t understand why Sam had sent her a friend request.
Sam was one of Hansel’s close friends. However, Miranda didn’t know him well personally. They’d met at social gatherings and dinners multiple times. Yet, they’d never spoken to each other much.
After a moment’s consideration, Miranda approved the friend request. She was worried Sam might’ve sent the request to talk about something urgent.
Strangely, though, nothing happened even after half an hour had passed. It appeared that Sam might’ve sent the request by mistake..
Miranda found it strange, but she didn’t dwell on it. She put her phone aside and continued working on solving the question.
At the bar, Sam put his phone away and lifted his gaze. He spotted Calvin, who’d returned to the bar after taking Hansel home.
He nanowed his eyes. “You took him home safely?”
Calvin nodded and took a big gulp of his drink. Good thing I left as fast as I could. It would’ve been bad if i’d run into Mrs. Johnson.”
Evelyn had stopped by the mansion frequently in the past two days. Everyone who’d happened to run into her had been subjected to a round of intense questioning.
“By the way, you said you were busy whenever we tried to get you to hang out with us recently. How come you’re free tonight?”
Sam gazed at the brandy in his glass and smiled slightly. “Well, I’ve finished settling
my matters.
“Ah! I just remembered something.” Calvin put his glass down.
“What is it?”
“Has Miranda finished taking the postgraduate admission exam?” This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
Sam answered, “It was two days ago.”
“Huh?”
“It ended two days ago.”
Calvin snickered. “You remember that so well.”
Sam curled his lips. “When have I ever forgotten about these things?”
“Hmm. As expected of someone who’s in the finance industry. You’re always so detail
-oriented.”
Sam replied, “Thanks for the compliment.
“You don’t even bother acting humble. Also, it’s been almost six months now. Yet, Hans and Miranda still haven’t gotten back together. How unbelievable!”
Sam responded with a hum.
“Are you not surprised by this?”
“Why would I be?” Sam said rather indifferently, “It was bound to happen sooner or later.”
“You’re right. They’re bound to get back together sooner or later.” Calvin interpreted those words according to his own assumptions.
Sam was rendered speechless by his response. “That reminds me. You’re close to Miranda, right?”
Calvin puffed up his chest. “Of course! I’ve even had Miranda’s signature dish, the cream of vegetable soup, before. We’re not just close. We’re super close!”
Sam’s eyes gleamed with a

do something now that
You should celebrate with her.”
“Celebrate? How do I celebrate with her?” Calvin was stumped.
“Why not treat her to a meal? This way, you might even be able to help those two reconcile.”
Calvin’s eyes lit up as he thought about Hansel, who’d been drinking heavily these days. “You’re right. Why haven’t I thought of that? Miranda won’t accept an invitation from Hans, but she will if it’s from me.
“I’ll arrange a gathering with an excuse to celebrate Miranda completing her exam. Then, we’ll create an opportunity for the two of them to…”
“That’s a brilliant idea.” Sam nodded. He raised the glass to his mouth and concealed the slight smile on his lips.
