Feeling his breath’on her cheek, Maia looked away and said, “If you think you can force me into remarrying you, you can dream on. I'd rather kill myself!”

When she said the last sentence, Maia met his gaze.

This time, Cedric let her go.

Maia then opened the door and walked out of the room without saying anything.

Broadcast live, the dinner was held buffet-style in the central square.

The equipment was set up, and the audience could watch what was going on from four different angles. Not long after the live broadcast started, the number of viewers exceeded five million, with countless comments.

“Where’s Cedric? | want to see him, please!”

“Where’s Maia? | want to see her and Cedric!”

“| want to see them get back together!”

The moment Maia entered the central square, all eyes were on her. Her beauty was captivating.

“Ms. Maia.” A mentor named Jackie Tenny handed her a soda. “Have some iced soda. It’s perfect for this weather.” Although it was not scorching hot, they could still feel the summer

heat.

“Thanks, Jackie,” Maia said courteously and went to the dining area to eat with the participants. Being a naturally friendly person, Maia soon endeared herself to them.

“Ms. Maia, have more of this. The lobster is amazing!”

“Thank you,” Maia said as she took the lobster leg and started eating it.

The viewers couldn't help commenting in the live broadcast room.

“Holy shit! She’s so pretty even when she eats!”

“Come on! Would Cedric follow around her if she weren’t so gorgeous?”

“How come we're not seeing Cedric? Where the hell is he?”

As it evening went on, the participants and mentors started to play an icebreaker game by +15 BONUSPublished by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

Everyone had put their question inside a box, and those who were holding the flower when the drumming stopped had to randomly pick a question and answer it truthfully.

The first person to hold the flower when the drumming stopped was Maia.

Not expecting to be the first, she smiled ruefully.

“Ms. Maia got the flower!” Aiken smiled at Maia and said, “Don’t worry, guys, not even the mentors could talk their way out of this.*

The box was quickly moved over to Maia, and she rose to her feet and took out a piece of paper.

“What does it say? Let me take a look.” Aiken took the paper from Maia and read off it, “Who was your first boyfriend? Who was your first kiss? Who did you lose your virginity to?”

After he finished reading the questions, everyone fell silent.

“Who the hell wrote this? And that’s more than one question!” Aiken looked at Maia. “Maia, | guess you have to answer all of them.”

“Really?” Maia didn’t expect to be asked questions like those. “Of course!” Aiken laughed. “Come on, just give us the answers.’ Maia smiled and said vaguely. “Well, | had all my firsts with my ex, who was my first boyfriend, of course.”

Aiken laughed. “Whoever wrote the questions, remember to ask for a name next time, all right? If not, Ms. Maia is not going to tell you anything.”

They then continued to play the game. At that moment, Baz hurried into the central market.

He quickly neared Maia and whispered into her ear, “Ms. Maia, Cedric has gotten drunk, and he won't stop drinking no matter what I say...”

Maia frowned, knowing that Cedric must be trying to ellicit pity from her again.

“Ms. Maia, Cedric’s wounds haven't even recovered yet, okay? Considering that he got hurt because of you, can you at least tell him to stop drinking?”

“Baz,” Maia said quietly, “I tried my best to make it up to him last time. If he decides to drink himself to death, that has nothing to do with me.”

“Ms. Maia, Mr. Cedric-”

“Enough, Baz. Tell him to drop his act.

Not expecting Maia to see through his plan, Baz was caught off guard. +15 BONUS

He quickly explained. “Ms. Maia, this was all my idea. | was the one who asked him to try to get you to feel sorry for him. As you know, he’s not a romantic person, so | gave him some tips. | didn’t know it would make things worse.”

Maia was surprised by what he said, but it didn’t matter whose idea it was anymore.

Clenching her fists, she said, “I won’t go see him.”

She sounded so firm that Baz was at a loss for words.

He then let out of sigh and left in disappointment.

Was Maia being too heartless?

Probably.

However, since she was determined to end their relationship, it was the only way, and she didn’t do anything wrong. Yet, Maia felt somewhat uneasy even after the dinner was over.

“lll walk you back, Maia.”

Maia saw Aiken catching up with her. “If I'm remembering it right, your room is that way.*

“| ate too much, and some exercise would do me good. Anyway, | wonder what's wrong with the production team. | told them that | wanted to stay close to you, and yet they got me a room so far away from you,” he said in frustration.
