Chapter 18 A Scheming Woman

He knew how much Charlotte loved Arthur.

Even though he only came home once a week, it was obvious.

Whenever Arthur was around, her focus was solely on him, and she went out of her way to care for him.

No matter how impatient Arthur got, she pretended not to notice and continued to

hover around him.

Sometimes, Julius found it annoying.

He couldn't help but think Arthur was impressive for tolerating such a tiresome

woman.

Julius couldn't stand it, so he came home once a week.

But now, Charlotte claimed she didn't like

Arthur anymore.

He didn't buy it for a second!

After a moment of silence, Julius continued, "If you're planning to do something

and threaten Dad with divorce, I'd advise you to stop it. He'll be furious."

Jennifer shot Charlotte a cold look. "Are you pulling some sort of stunt?"

Charlotte just found it amusing.

Julius was so young; how could he even

have such an idea?

She cast a frosty glance at Jennifer, convinced she was behind this.

Deep down, Charlotte felt regret for not insisting on keeping Julius by her side.

But the thought was fleeting.

It didn't matter anymore.

Julius's personality was set, and she didn't think she could change that.

"Just tell me if you agree or not," Charlotte said calmly.

"As long as Dad agrees, that's fine," Julius replied, implying that his approval hinged on Arthur's.

Charlotte tightened her grip on the

handrail at his response.

As expected, they were all eager for her to leave.

Charlotte smiled. "Alright, I'll divorce him as soon as possible, and then you can ask him to find you a mother you actually like."

With that, she strode towards the door.

Jennifer watched Charlotte's retreating figure with an ambiguous expression.

"Grandma, do you think she'll really divorce Dad?" Julius asked.

Jennifer looked at him, her expression softening. "No. She's a scheming woman. She played tricks to marry your father. How would she willingly leave? I suspect

She then hailed a taxi and left.

When Arthur saw the message, he was at the Lumina Club, where his friends had gathered in the private room.

He sat at the head of the table, with Sarah next to him, smiling. "I just got back from abroad, but Barrett insisted on throwing a welcome party. It's quite embarrassing."

Arthur took out his phone and replied, "He has the money, so let him. Just enjoy yourself."

When he read Charlotte's message, his expression darkened.

Sarah noticed and paused before asking, "Arthur, why didn't you bring Charlotte tonight? I haven't seen her for a long time."

Arthur replied coolly, "We're getting a divorce. Why would I bring her?"
