Chapter 248
Chapter 248
Right then, a call from Zachary came. Patricia picked up the phone and said, "Hello.".
"Hey, Tricia. Just went by your company, and I thought I should have lunch with you."
Perfect timing. I'm just about to head out and get something good! Can't believe he's already downstairs waiting for me. She then said, "Sure. Where are you? I'm on my way."
Zachary looked at the couple across from him and said plainly, "The French restaurant right across your company."
"Right away," answered Patricia. She went into the bathroom to put some lipstick on and comb her hair.
She was in professional attire today. Her coat was black, and she was wearing a shirt and tight, laced skirt underneath. The fact she wore lipstick was so she could look more outstanding. When she went into the restaurant, she was surprised to see Rose and Isaac there. Oh, didn't know they were having lunch here.
She shrugged it off and approached Zachary. "Hey." She took the seat across from him.
Zachary pushed a glass of water to her. "Have some water."
He then snapped his fingers, and a waiter came over. "You may serve the food now," he said.
Patricia sipped some of the warm lemon water, and she asked, "So, found anyone you like during the blind dates?"
The look on Zachary's face changed. Why did she bring that up? "No," he answered indifferently.
The appetizers were served, and he placed some on Patricia's plate. "You've lost a lot of weight. Have some more."
Surprise flashed in Patricia's eyes. Did I? I think I've gained weight, though. Well, whatever. It's been a while since I had French cuisine. It still tastes as good as ever.
Rose was sitting right across from them. She saw Patricia a moment later when she lifted her head, and her eyes shone. "Oh, that's Patricia!"
Isaac turned to look in the direction Rose was looking at. It really is Patricia, but why is she with Zachary? When Zachary met Isaac's gaze, he gave Isaac a slight nod as a greeting.
The look on Isaac's face changed. He glanced at Patricia, but she had her back turned to him and was having her meal, so she didn't notice his fixed gaze on her.
Rose smiled. "Didn't know Patricia knows Zachary. And they seem like good friends."
As she said that, Rose was even more delighted. She thought Isaac would stay away from her once he had a girlfriend, but he became a bit friendlier instead. At least he talks to me a little now.
As she continued to look at the pair sitting at the table right across her, she could tell that Zachary liked Patricia very much. After all, Rose had someone she liked as well, and one look was enough to tell her
that Zachary harbored feelings for Patricia. The affection in his eyes was almost palpable. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
Isaac said nothing, and he barely ate anything as well. All he did was drink his tea, and he seemed a lot more brooding.
Rose thought things got a little silent after they got to this restaurant, so she made conversation. "Does Nikola have a girlfriend, Isaac? Grandma loves him the most. She wants to see him get married soon."
Isaac knew that. Lavender loved Nikola the most since he was the best-looking out of his siblings, and he knew how to make her happy, so she loved him more. Isaac answered coolly, "No idea." He wasn't the type who would poke his nose in someone else's affairs, and relationship stories weren't on his to- do list.
Rose could feel the tension in the air. He's acting too aloof.
She shifted her attention to Zachary's table. He was smiling over there while Isaac looked gloomy over here. But he always looks like that. I need to get used to it. And then she dug into her food quietly.
Patricia focused on the food. It was a hearty lunch, as every dish was sumptuous enough to dance with her tastebuds.
"Had enough, Miss Aniston? Time to work."
