My Substitute CEO Bride

Chapter 2540

"What else can I do about it?" Aurora choked out the words.

She understood her own weakness well. She definitely was not as strong as Whistler and the others, so the task of finding the killer was definitely not hers to

take on.

All she seemed capable of was crying and waiting. At that moment, Whistler stepped in front of her.

"So, is this why you're giving up on yourself?"

Aurora turned her head away. "What do you want to say?"

"Everyone is saddened by Linden's death, but sadness should never be a reason to stagnate."

"What do you mean by that?" Aurora regarded Whistler with a puzzled look.

Whistler maintained his expressionless demeanor. "What you need to do is grow stronger and turn that sorrow into strength."

"But I..."

"Can't do it?" Whistler interrupted.

Aurora lowered her head.

Whistler continued coldly, "You're just avoiding the issue. Are you really

incapable? How would you know unless you tried? Do you feel weak? So why not become strong?"

"That's easy for you to say..." Aurora sighed. "Geniuses like you just don't understand!"

At that moment, Whistler abruptly pulled Aurora up. "Listen, this has nothing to do with being a genius. Everyone who becomes strong proves their capability through action!"

"So what?!" Aurora pushed Whistler away.

"What do you mean, 'so what'? Don't you feel dissatisfied? Don't you want to seek revenge? What's the point of crying about it here?"

"You jerk! Can you just go away?" Aurora punched Whistler in the chest.

Whistler skillfully used true energy to defend himself. "I barely felt anything from that punch. I didn't feel a thing!"

"You just want to annoy me, don't you?"

Aurora unleashed two more punches, fueled by true energy. Yet it was still futile. Her attacks landed on Whistler like they struck a solid wall, yielding no effect whatsoever.

Whistler then raised his fist.

"Boring. I see you're just a boring person." He threw a punch at Aurora.

Aurora quickly activated her true energy for defense. Yet in the next moment, the true energy barrier shattered, and Aurora was sent flying several meters. She crashed heavily onto the steps.

At that moment, Aurora did not know what was happening, but she felt courage creep in again.

"You're the boring one!" Aurora threw another punch.

The result was the same, but this time, she did not stop attacking. She continued

to pound on Whistler's true energy barrier, punch after punch.

Even when her fists started bleeding, she still did not stop.

Whistler remained expressionless, listening to the dull thuds of Aurora's punches against his barrier, his mind staying calm.

Whistler glanced at the spot Aurora had been attacking.

A small hole had appeared there, and Aurora kept on attacking.

Her fists had become bloody and bruised, but she showed no sign of stopping.

At that moment, Whistler released his true energy defense. Aurora's fists landed heavily on him, but he remained unaffected.

Afterward, Aurora gasped for breath and collapsed heavily onto the ground. She looked up at the setting sun in the sky and cried in immense pain.noveldrama

Whistler stood beside her, saying nothing at all.
