The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 475

Matthew was as humble as he could be. Nevertheless, Sebastian glanced at Matthew with disdain and said proudly, "I can manage on my own and take care of myself. I'm capable of making a living on my own, so I don't need a dime from you. Now, leave me alone."

With that, Sebastian strutted off.

Matthew stopped running after Sebastian and slowed down. He eventually walked alongside Renae, trailing behind Sebastian about ten feet away.

Looking at Sebastian's back, Renae nodded approvingly. "Sebastian looks shabby, and all he talks about is money. He seems really obsessed with it too. But I can't deny that he's ambitious and driven."

Upon hearing Renae's words, Matthew chuckled and remarked, "I'm curious where he goes to make a few hundred dollars an hour."

Up ahead, Sebastian slipped into an alley, winding through it before he walked into a yard.

Renae came to the gate with Matthew and urged him to hurry up. "Get inside already. Don't you want to see how he makes a few hundred dollars an hour? You'll find out soon.

"I'm sure a hard worker like him has a good way to make money. If I'm right, he's doing house calls for patients..."

Renae went quiet halfway through her sentence. Her lovely face showed a bewildered look as she watched Sebastian enter such a place in disbelief.

It was a card room. How could he visit such a place?

Matthew looked amused. "Is this your idea of a driven person hustling for money?"

Renae looked a bit awkward. "Maybe the patient runs a card room or something."

Matthew didn't comment further. He pushed the door open and walked inside. Upon entering the card

room, Matthew was hit by the thick stench of cigarettes, and he couldn't help but frown.

Renae hurriedly covered her nose and mouth with her hand. Her expression twisted in disgust. "I can't stand being here."

There were eight tables in the card room, and all of them were filled with people. Next to each customer was a small table holding beer, drinks, cigarettes, lighters, and snacks like bubble gum.

People played blackjack and poker in the room. The air was thick with smoke, and the place was buzzing with noise.

The moment the blackjack players spotted Sebastian, they stood up and ditched their cards to welcome him. "Join my table today, Dr. Campbell."

"I'm taking the seat opposite you today, Sebastian. Let's play a few rounds."

"You promised me last time that we'd play a few rounds, Sebastian."

"Don't even think about taking my spot. It's been days since I've played at the same table as Dr.

Campbell. No matter what, it's about time I get to play a few hands with him."

Sebastian acted like this was nothing new. "I'm just here for some casual games today. Let the boss decide where I get to play."

Watching this scene unfold, Matthew couldn't help but click his tongue in disbelief. Was Sebastian seriously this popular? It looked like many people wanted to play at his table.

Renae seemed let down. "No way! He actually plays cards for a living. That's how he earns a few hundred dollars an hour! I've got to admit that he's well-liked. Everyone's fighting to join his table." en

Matthew shook his head. "It doesn't mean he's liked by many."

All of Renae's comments about Sebastian were totally off the mark.noveldrama

Feeling embarrassed, Renae wanted to salvage some dignity for herself. "Many people are eager to get a spot at his table. If it isn't because of his charisma, then what's the reason?"

Matthew nonchalantly remarked, "Maybe it's because he's not lucky."

"Unlucky?" Renae muttered to herself. She then finally realized it. "Are you saying he's always losing? So

sitting at his table means winning money. Is that why he is so popular?"
