Matthew didn't bother paying much attention to Jovian's words as he was busy trying to guess who the other person could be.

He mentally reviewed everyone he had recently interacted with, including the Hobbes family, Terrence, the Evanses, and the Genesis Sect... He even thought of the Fuller family from Mistvale City, but after thinking it over, he ruled them out one by one.

He had killed Hayden, so there was no chance the Hobbes would want reconciliation. Terrence had openly announced that his life's mission was to kill him, so reconciliation was out of the question.

The Genesis Sect was a little tricky. Though he had nearly killed Gideon, Barrett had always wanted to recruit him into their sect.

As for the Fuller family, they had hired assassins to kill his family but failed. In retaliation, he sent the last five assassins of The Misfortune's Veil to take revenge on them. As their grudge was far too deep to consider any peace talks, he ruled them out as well.

By the time Matthew reached the door of Harmony Suite, he still hadn't figured out who it might be.

Jovian reached for the door handle but paused to remind Matthew, "Remember what I just said. Make the first move and apologize for my sake. If we put this matter to rest, consider it me owing you a favor. Just come to me if you ever need anything."

Matthew replied coolly, "Go ahead and open the door. Let me see who it is."

Jovian nodded. "Alright, I'll open it. Remember what I said." With that, he pushed the door open with a creak.

As the door opened, Matthew looked inside the room to see two men. One was slightly chubby with fair skin and dressed in a white shirt that suggested he worked for an organization. The other man wore a plain cotton T-shirt and had styled his hair. He gave off an air of privilege, but there was worry and unease in his eyes.

Matthew was certain he didn't know either, and there was no reason for any conflict. Still, he followed Jovian into the room with a hint of curiosity.

Clement felt as if he were sitting on pins and needles. Though Adrian had repeatedly assured him that he could mediate the conflict between the Fuller family and Matthew, Adrian had no idea what the conflict was about.

Clement wasn't trying to keep it from Adrian, but he simply couldn't reveal the murders. It'd be disastrous for the Fuller family if word got out.

When Clement saw the two young men enter, he immediately recognized Matthew. He had seen Matthew in videos, but this was his first time meeting him in person.

The moment their eyes met,

Clement grew increasingly terrified the more he thought about it. He felt as helpless as a lamb cornered by a ferocious wolf, and it was possible he'd be torn up at just any moment.

He began to tremble and was hit by a sudden urge to flee to the restroom. He forced himself to focus on the food on the table and tried to calm down by ignoring Matthew's presence.

Jovian gestured to a chair and told Matthew, "Sit down. Let's talk this over."

Matthew walked to the table and took his seat. Then, he began scanning the two

men.

He guessed Clement was here for him when he saw the tense look on his face,

but he couldn't understand why Clement would be so terrified.

Seeing Matthew, Adrian greeted him warmly, "So, you're Matthew. Jovian mentioned you before and said you used to be classmates and are close friends. I'm glad you came today."

Before Matthew could respond,

Jovian jumped in, "Yeah, he was my

classmate. There's no need to be so

polite. He'll definitely agree for my

sake, so just say the word for

whatever you need."

Adrian smiled. "In that case, let's getnoveldrama

to the point. My friend here asked me to help with mediating a conflict with Matthew though he hasn't share the details with me. Now that both parties are here, you can discuss it yourselves. I hope we can let bygones be bygones and reach peace for my and Jovian's sake."

Reach peace? Matthew looked at Clement, who he assumed the conflict was with even though he didn't even know his name. How were they supposed to reach peace?
