Chapter 472 Turning the House into a Home

Sierra had never liked this house. It felt too vast, too cold–there was nothing about it that resembled a home.

But she knew this was where every head of the Wynn family had lived.

Now that Johnathan was the new head, he naturally couldn’t break tradition.

Still, the one good thing about this place was its security.

Just as she was thinking that, Johnathan said, “We’re moving back tomorrow.”

Sierra blinked. “Are you sure that’s okay?” noveldrama

“Why wouldn’t it be?” Johnathan shot back. “I’m already sick of cleaning up this mess. Living here only makes it worse.”

Others saw living in this house as an honor. To him, it just felt suffocating.

Sierra found his honesty funny. She thought for a moment and replied, “Actually, this place isn’t so bad.” The scenery’s great, and the air is clean. We just don’t need that many people waiting on us. Maybe we can trim things down a bit.”

She knew Johnathan was thinking of her–but right now, her top priority was his safety.

His uncles and aunts had never accepted him becoming the head of the family. Who knew how many of them were just waiting to pounce?

This wasn’t the time for any slip–ups.

Johnathan paused at her words, then said, “Nothing’s going to happen to me. This was my decision. And I like the peace here. I’ll talk to the butler tomorrow.”

Seeing she had made up her mind, Johnathan nodded. “Alright. You handle it.”

Sierra was now the matriarch of the Wynn family–this was her role to play.

Still, Johnathan felt guilty. Sierra had once been fully devoted to her research. Now, she had to deal with all this chaos alongside him.

Unable to help himself, he pulled her into a hug. Sierra understood exactly what he meant.

“I chose this,” she said softly. “And I don’t think it’s hard.”

Her current research project wasn’t too demanding. She figured this was a good chance to learn something

new.

So, the next day, Sierra called in the old butler to get a complete understanding of the estate’s operations.

What she found shocked her

Security, housekeeping, medical teams, gardening–when you added it all up, there were several hundred

people working in the estate.

She had known it took a lot to maintain a place like this, but this many? And that was with tech–enhanced efficiency

Only now did she realize the entire mountain was outfitted with intercept systems and infrared surveillance.

No wonder Johnathan had said this was the safest place.

She took a deep breath and asked about the servants.

To her surprise, most of the household staff were what they called “born into service.”

Yes, she’d heard that rightborn into service.

Sierra hadn’t expected to hear something like that in this day and age.

These were people whose families had served the Wynns for generations, fiercely loyal to the household.

She had originally planned to reduce the staff–but now, that clearly wasn’t an option.

If Johnathan, freshly instated as the new head, started making cuts, it would only alienate people.

“We’ll leave it as is, then,” Sierra said with a sigh. “Whatever system was in place before, keep it that way.”

She decided not to interfere with the household staff. But the medical team–that could be streamlined.

They’d primarily been in place to care for the old master. Neither she nor Johnathan needed that level of

attention.

However, the team did hold a lot of confidential information, so Sierra thought it best to reassign them rather than let them go.

Better to make use of every resource.

It took her several days to sort everything out. She restructured the staffing so everyone had a purpose- no idle hands.

With such a large estate, it was a waste to leave everything unused.

So she got people involved in planting fruit trees, setting up vegetable gardens, and creating small farming plots.

The result?

When Johnathan came home over the next few days, he was greeted by a very different version of the old

estate.

Gone was the heavy silence and oppressive stillness–now, it brimmed with life and energy.

Seeing him stop and take it all in, the butler quietly said, “Sir, all of this was Ms. Sierra’s idea.”

Johnathan smiled. “It’s wonderful.”

Maybe it was because Sierra was here—but somehow, this place didn’t feel as stifling as it used to.

He realized something. Wherever Sierra was, that place became home to him.

Even this old house he’d always hated… felt like home now.
