The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving

Over in the lounge area, Brandon returned from his brief walk.

Flynn had just finished exchanging pleasantries with a guest. Seeing Brandon return, he immediately approached him. "Brandon, there you are. Tiffany was just asking about your company, Silux Materials."

As Brandon took a sip of his wine, his eyes drifted toward Tiffany, who was chatting with a group nearby. She was confident and poised, a picture of grace.

His thoughts, however, wandered to the moment he had witnessed Evelyn throwing himself into Lucas' arms.

"What's Evelyn's background?" he asked, almost absentmindedly.

Flynn thought for a moment before replying, "She's currently at Flying Seal Group.

I think she's working as Mr. Hill's assistant. But if you ask me, their relationship is a bit complicated."

He scoffed. For someone like Sebastian to value a married woman like Evelyn that highly, he couldn't think of any explanation other than a romantic entanglement.

That just made Flynn think even less of her. In his eyes, Evelyn had completely hit rock bottom.

Brandon was genuinely surprised. Of course, he caught the implication behind Flynn's words. Sebastian had a spotless reputation in the industry-no scandals, no messy affairs, always keeping a clean profile, even during business socializing.

So now it seemed Evelyn not only had Sebastian wrapped around her finger but was also going after Lucas?

"What brought this on?" Flynn asked, curious about Brandon's sudden interest in Evelyn.

Brandon let out a small, dry laugh and clinked his glass against Flynn's. "I'm just thinking—you really can't judge a book by its cover. Who knows what monsters are hiding behind a pretty face?"

He actually felt a bit of sympathy for Tiffany-being dragged into drama by a woman desperately seeking attention from men.

As they talked, a soft voice interrupted. "What are you two discussing?"

Tiffany approached, carefully holding up the hem of her gown. She wore a gentle smile on her face and nodded politely at Brandon.

Flynn's tone immediately softened. "We're just saying how others don't even come close to you. Some people always want to compete, but they're just overestimating themselves."

Tiffany raised an eyebrow. She didn't know what had just happened, but she could easily guess who Flynn was referring to. She simply shook her head and never commented anything.

That made Brandon admire her all the more. It was no wonder Lucas had chosen her. She really did carry herself with elegance and grace.

Right then, Justine walked past and overheard Flynn's last snide remark. Her expression immediately darkened. "Flynn, who are you talking about?"

The sarcasm in his tone was impossible to ignore, especially since he was clearly gossiping with Tiffany about Evelyn. The sight of her acting virtuously infuriated Justine.

What did they know? Evelyn was the one who had been wronged.

Justine shot Flynn a sharp glare. He rubbed his temples, clearly annoyed. "I wasn't talking about anyone in particular. But you-when are you going to use your head? Always rushing to defend people who don't deserve it. Do you even know who you're protecting?"

Justine had always been spoiled growing up. She never took her studies seriously, and her parents didn't pressure her either. They just let her enjoy life however she pleased.

Then, she grew up and wanted to invest. She had asked the family for 50 million dollars in one go. Thankfully, she had chosen Sebastian and invested in Flying Seal Group.

That was probably the one smart decision she had made in her life. But now, watching her throw herself into defending a woman with nothing to her name— Flynn wanted no part of it. The last thing he needed was Evelyn clinging to their family through Justine.noveldrama

Just then, Lucas and Evelyn returned to the lounge-and walked right into the tension.

Justine locked her eyes on Tiffany and asked a bold question that cut right to the heart of the matter. "Ms. Moore, you and Mr. Grant always appear together, but I've never heard either of you say exactly what your relationship is. Are you his girlfriend? Or his fiancée?"

Evelyn's eyes flickered ever so slightly. That question was no accident. It was a deliberate provocation.

If Tiffany gave a clear answer and Evelyn spoke up to reveal she was Lucas' ex- wife, Tiffany's image would be shattered. She would instantly be branded as the other woman.
