The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving

Chapter 107

Tiffany naturally understood the challenge hidden in Justine's question. Her brows furrowed slightly as she looked at Justine with displeasure.

She was sure she had never provoked Justine, so this sudden hostility could only have been stirred up by Evelyn.

A flicker of irritation crossed Tiffany's eyes when she saw Evelyn arriving. Evelyn was the only one capable of these underhanded tactics. Since she couldn't compete with her in other ways, she resorted to schemes like this.

Flynn, too, was curious about the question. Based on how Lucas treated Tiffany, it was clear he cared about her. But truth be told, Lucas had never officially introduced Tiffany as his girlfriend. If he was merely pursuing her, that might mean there was still a chance for him.

Brandon also turned to look at Tiffany, clearly waiting for her answer.

Just as Tiffany was about to respond, a tall figure stepped in beside her. Lucas' sharp gaze swept past Justine and briefly over Evelyn before he said coldly, "If you're so curious, you can ask me. She is whatever I say she is."

Evelyn's expression softened slightly. Whatever fleeting emotion she had just completely faded. What remained was a calm acceptance. Lucas' statement was both a shield and a warning.

He wouldn't let Tiffany admit anything directly. He wouldn't let her be labeled as a homewrecker. Whether she was his girlfriend or fiancée, it became a reality once he said it. It was also a direct move to prevent Evelyn from ever revealing that she was actually his wife.

Evelyn knew exactly what Lucas meant. If she dared to make a scene, he

wouldn't hold back. He had never been afraid of public scandals. Especially now, with the divorce already underway, he would likely take the chance to officially acknowledge Tiffany as his lover. In the end, the only one left humiliated would be Evelyn.

She even worried that his anger-should she ruin Tiffany's reputation-might spill over and affect the people close to her.

Evelyn gradually calmed down. She had never felt Lucas' love, so there was nothing to be disappointed about now.

Justine noticed Lucas' unreserved attitude and turned to look at Evelyn. She walked up to her friend, concern written on her face. "Evie..."

Evelyn met her gaze, offering a comforting look. This situation no longer bothered her.

Even though Lucas hadn't given a direct answer, his public defense of Tiffany spoke volumes. It was clear how important she was to him.

Brandon looked from Tiffany to Evelyn again, a smirk tugging at his lips. After witnessing the scene earlier, he couldn't help but find it all a little ironic.

He figured Lucas must have rejected Evelyn's attempt to cozy up to him. As for Sebastian, maybe he just hadn't realized how fickle Evelyn could be.

Evelyn didn't argue or dwell on what Lucas and Tiffany might become. Since she hadn't found Naomi's painting at the gallery, there was no point staying any longer.

She grabbed Justine's hand and left. Lucas caught the movement out of the corner of his eye and glanced over.

Her back was straight as proud as always. Her face revealed no joy, anger, or sadness-like he no longer had anything to do with her.

There was a time when Evelyn might have gotten upset or thrown a fit. But lately, she had become quiet, almost indifferent. It likely started after Blake got out of prison.

"Lucas?" Tiffany noticed his gaze was lingering in Evelyn's direction, and her expression immediately darkened. A hint of unease bubbled up in her chest.noveldrama

It was no wonder Evelyn had been acting up lately. Was it just to get Lucas' attention?

"What's wrong?" she asked softly.

Lucas turned back, his expression cool and unreadable. His deep eyes showed no trace of emotion when he said, "Nothing."

Tiffany let out a small sigh of relief. "Let's play golf tonight, just us and Jason's group."

Lucas nodded faintly. That finally put Tiffany at ease. She didn't want his attention split-not even a little. Evelyn should stay invisible.

As for the title of Lucas' wife, since he had never publicly acknowledged it, then Evelyn simply wasn't.

Justine, frustrated with how the day turned out, wanted to take Evelyn out for drinks and karaoke. Back in her PR department days, Evelyn had occasionally joined drinking events for work.
