The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving

Tiffany was graceful and calm as she looked at Michael.

Michael subconsciously glanced at Tiffany. He pondered for a moment, then shook his head in the end. "It's nothing. I just wanted to remind you that you have a meeting with Mr. Tristan Lewis at 3:00 p.m."

Lucas nodded calmly and entered his office while Tiffany followed closely behind him.

Michael looked at their backs. After he weighed the pros and cons, he chose to hold his tongue.

After all, Tiffany was still round. It was inappropriate for him to mention Evelyn

now.

Besides, Michael had never heard of Lucas visiting his mother-in-law's grave in the past few years. So, why would this time be any different?

Even if he were to tell Lucas about Naomi's third death anniversary, Lucas might not agree to visit her grave. Why would he spoil Lucas' and Tiffany's mood by mentioning Evelyn?

Evelyn had no idea about what Michael did-or did not do.

She went to the sanatorium after work that night.

Deborah made some food and delivered them to Leonard, so it was a perfect time for Evelyn to join them.

Leonard had just finished his chemotherapy that day, so he did not have an appetite. He did not eat much. He just smiled and chatted with Evelyn and Deborah about what he thought of the new room.

He said the hospital had arranged better caretakers for him. Both the caretakers would take turns taking care of him during the day and night. They were a million times more attentive than those he had before.

Evelyn was a little surprised to hear this. She was not sure if that was a service that came with the VIP room, or if it was Lucas' arrangement.

Usually, each service at a top private hospital like this would be charged separately.

Could it be that it was truly Lucas who had specially arranged it?

"You've spent a great deal of money, haven't you?" Deborah turned to look at Evelyn. She disapproved and said, "It hasn't been that long since you changed jobs. There's no need to spend so much."

She felt sorry for Evelyn, who had done plenty for her and Leonard.

Evelyn regained her senses. She did not explain how they received this room. If Deborah and Leonard learned that Millie was right downstairs, they would be pissed off.

"My current job offers a very high bonus. You don't have to worry about my finances. I'll find a better doctor for Uncle Lenny. Once we find a kidney donor, we'll get the surgery done," said Evelyn.

She did not want anything else at that moment. All she wanted was to complete her goals as soon as possible. Once she had enough money on hand, she would be able to give her uncle better medical resources.

Leonard, however, felt indebted to Evelyn. He shook his head miserably and said, "It's my fault that I'm a burden to you. If my body is healthy, I could've helped you a little..."

Evelyn had never been protected since she was a child.

Derek was a heartless hypocrite who had never cared about Evelyn's livelihood. The Reed family was not an affluent family either. They could not give Evelyn enough support to gain her footing in the Grant family.

Leonard was severely ill, and his medical treatment was extremely costly. It had always bothered him that he was a burden to Evelyn.

Evelyn felt an urge to cry, but she shook her head with a smile. "I've picked up the career that I like again, and I'm living a fulfilled and happy life. Our lives will keep getting better."

She had saved herself out of the swamp. She just needed to do whatever she was supposed to do. There was no need for her to worry about other things.

Deborah planned to spend the night at the sanatorium.

After she walked Evelyn downstairs, she held Evelyn's hand and asked, "Have you notified Lucas and Blake about your mother's death anniversary?"

The way Deborah saw it, Lucas was Evelyn's husband, so he should be present. Blake, on the other hand, was once the person Evelyn was closest to. He was the one who helped Evelyn organize Naomi's funeral back then. How could he not attend the ceremony this time?
