The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving

Evelyn raised her eyebrow a little and asked, "A business trip?"

"It's the aerospace technology conference held once every two years in Holmer City. The people attending the event are big shots from our country and abroad. Big investors would be there as well. What do you think? You're interested, aren't you?" Sebastian smirked.

Evelyn knew that Holmer City had been holding this event for the past ten years. It was one of the most important events in the industry.

The people who were invited were the top engineers and technicians around the world. Everybody was there to learn from each other and to have an exchange. It was an incredibly rare opportunity to come by.

"I'm guessing my father might be there. How about taking this opportunity to talk to him? Have Justy pick out an evening dress for you either today or tomorrow. The company will pay for it," Sebastian said generously.

Justine's frustrations instantly vanished when she heard that. "No problem! Just leave it to me. I'll make sure your plus one will steal the show, Mr. Hill!"

Justine immediately turned the car around and drove to the largest mall.

Unfortunately, after they shopped around, the most expensive dress in the mall was less than a few hundred thousand dollars. Justine thought it was not good enough for Evelyn.

Two hours later, Justine decided to let Evelyn wear the dress that she had just shipped back into the country from abroad. She immediately made a call and had someone deliver it to them.

It was a mermaid dress in light purple, and the fabric was smooth and light as a feather. The cinched waist design perfectly showed off Evelyn's figure.

The dress looked even more vibrant when it was under the light. It had no unnecessary embellishments, but it looked extravagant. Plus, the design was superb.noveldrama

"This dress is perfect for you. If you wore it, you'd be the belle of the ball!" Justine was incredibly happy with it.

Evelyn knew Justine's character, so she did not turn down her offer.

Sebastian's assistant had already booked a hotel in Holmer City for Evelyn and Sebastian before they departed.

As Evelyn packed her luggage, she found the lucky charm Tessie had given to her in her pocket. She froze for a moment before putting it into the deep end of her closet, never giving it another thought.

Evelyn and Sebastian flew to Holmer City one day in advance.

It was Evelyn's first time in the city. They were staying at the Bvlgari Hotel, and Sebastian brought Evelyn to get them checked in.

As soon as Evelyn got to the reception desk and took out her ID, she heard

someone call out to her, "Evelyn? Why are you here?"

Evelyn turned around and saw Mason dragging his luggage with him.

He scanned Evelyn from head to toe, and then asked Sebastian, "Mr. Hill, are you here to attend the conference with your team?"

This was a grand event. Not only would various fields' elites be attending, but there would be bosses from all major businesses. Project investments would be involved, so it would be inevitable for them to bump into each other.

"What a coincidence," Sebastian replied with a smile.

Mason raised his eyebrow and glanced at Evelyn. "Did you only bring her?"

It was tough to get a spot at the conference, yet Sebastian gave it to Evelyn, who

did not know the first thing about the field. Did the other core members at Flying Seal Group not have any objections?

"Bringing Evie is enough." Sebastian did not quite understand what Mason meant, so he just brushed him off causally.

On the other hand, Evelyn did not intend to greet Mason at all.

Mason smiled and said nothing. He left to make a call instead.

Immediately after that, Evelyn saw a few others at the door. It was Lucas, Tiffany, and Flynn.

Evelyn pursed her lips, but she quickly figured out that a person of Lucas' status would definitely be on the list of the important guests.

Lucas simply glanced at Evelyn calmly after he saw her at the hotel, not looking surprised at all. He simply nodded at Sebastian and asked, "Mr. Hill, are you free to join us for dinner tonight?"

Sebastian looked regretful. "I have an appointment tonight. Let's do it tomorrow instead we'll have a chance then."

Lucas nodded and greeted everybody before he led Tiffany and the others into the elevator. He did not deliberately speak to Evelyn. Like always, he acted like they were strangers when in public.

Flynn knew who Evelyn was. While they were in the elevator, he frowned and asked, "What's the situation between Evelyn and Mr. Hill? He's taking up a spot by bringing his assistant. How could he pull a backdoor dealing like this? They can't really be involved, can they?"

Lucas looked at his phone and said nothing. Tiffany raised her eyebrows and did not explain anything, either.

Mason was the only one who patted Flynn's shoulder and said, "She won't have the guts to do that."

Evelyn only had eyes for Lucas and would not dare cheat on him.

Flynn was confused. "What do you mean?"

Mason smiled but did not explain any further.
