The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving

Chapter 78

Sebastian had turned down Lucas' offer because he truly had an appointment. He was going to meet a mentor.

Before he left, he urged Evelyn over and over again, saying, "The pasta at the restaurant of this hotel is very good. You should go try it later. I'll bring you some dessert when I come back at night."

Evelyn chuckled. "Alright."

Sebastian had known Evelyn for years. He was a meticulous person and had always treated her very well. It was only natural that he knew some of her preferences.

Evelyn was staying in an executive suite. After she put her luggage down, she thought of Lucas and the others.

All the rooms on her floor were executive suites, while the presidential suite was upstairs. She figured that Lucas should be staying upstairs with Tiffany, but she did not mind that.

At noon, Evelyn went downstairs with her phone to grab some lunch.

The restaurant at the hotel was a high-end one. Evelyn chose a spot near the window. As she was having lunch on her own, she only ordered a plate of pasta and a bowl of soup.

When Lucas and the others came downstairs, they saw Evelyn sitting alone. All the other tables had a few people sitting together, which made Evelyn stick out like a sore thumb. She looked quite lonely.

Evelyn noticed them as well. She paused only for a moment before continuing to eat. She knew they did not like her. Her relationship with them was peculiar, so they would not choose to have lunch together with her. It would be best to not bother each other.

Tiffany glanced at Evelyn before pulling her gaze away and took her seat with Lucas.

Mason raised his eyebrows at Lucas and said, "Isn't she quite pitiful? She's all alone. Should we invite her to have lunch together?"

Tiffany paused as she wiped her hands, glancing at Lucas, who was looking through the menu. Looking indifferent, he asked, "What are you guys having?"

Tiffany smiled upon hearing that. It was just as she had expected-Lucas was extremely disgusted by Evelyn. He never had the mood to put on an act with Evelyn most of the time.

Mason also figured out what Lucas had in mind. It made sense since it would be awkward. Evelyn would be interrupting them if she were to come over.

Flynn did not understand what they meant. "I don't think that's necessary. She was the reason that Tiffany was kept waiting the last time she went to the Flying Seal Group. There's no need to be courteous to her."

After Lucas ordered a few dishes, he suddenly pointed at one of the signature dishes on the minute and said, "I'll have two sets of this. Send one to that table."

The waiter looked at Evelyn and replied, "Alright, sir."

Tiffany was stunned, but she quickly regained her composure. It was already quite rude for them to not invite Evelyn after they met her. Evelyn was truly pitiful since she was all alone. Sending a dish to her was just to comfort her. Otherwise, it would make them look bad.noveldrama

Mason gave Lucas a thumbs up. "Good thinking. You should put on an act. Evelyn is incredibly easy to placate. With what you did, she won't be angry anymore."

Lucas said nothing and simply took a sip of his red wine.

Evelyn frowned when the dish was served.

The waiter smiled and said, "It's courtesy of the gentleman over there. Please enjoy your meal."

Evelyn stared at the dish and glanced at the group of people happily chatting in the distance. None of them was willing to spare any more attention on her.

Evelyn would not think that Lucas had sent this dish over because he cared. It seemed more like Lucas was casually treating her as a charity case instead. It was as if all those years she had spent being ignored by him could be brushed off easily.

She looked at the dish quietly for a few seconds, not touching it. Then, she put down her utensils and left.
