Chapter 83
Chapter 83 Let Me Love You
When Maia admitted that Hope was her sister, she finally realized how much Hope had meant to her. Even though she was Yvette’s daughter, it would not change the fact that she was
family.
Hope was immediately sent back to her room as the doctor came to check on her condition. Deep in thought, Maia stared at Hope’s pale face.
Everything had happened all at once. First, it was Hope and Yvette’s accident, then her attack at the hospital, and lastly, Yvette’s suicide. These all seemed too coincidental. It was just like a movie, yet it happened in their lives.
“Doctor, how is she?”
“The reason she fainted was because her body was still quite weak. Furthermore, she was too emotional a while ago. You don’t have to worry too much. As long as she gets enough rest, she'll be fine.”
The doctor sighed and added, “I can only do so much. Ms. Hope needs to learn how to cope with the grief of losing her mother, or else this would only lead to more severe conditions.”
Maia nodded and thanked the doctor as he left the room. As she turned to stare at Hope, she felt sorry for her. Hope was entirely innocent, yet she had been repeatedly hurt.
+ “Ms. Maia, you should get some rest, too. Leave it to me. I’ll take care of Ms. Hope.” Maia knew that Buck could be trusted, so she relented. “I'll leave her to you.”
When Maia came out of the room, Cedric was still leaning against the wall. Even though he was injured, he had waited for her the entire time.
“Thank you for today, Cedric,” she said sincerely.
When Cedric approached her and tried to dry her tears, she stepped aside. His hand hung awkwardly in mid-air as he offered to send her home.

As Maia was about to reject his offer, Cedric added, “I still have your mother’s jewelry box.” Maia swallowed her words and followed Cedric to his car. He opened the door to the passenger seat and motioned for her to enter.
Maia offered to drive since Cedric was injured.
“No worries, it’s just a minor injury.” He had injured his back countless times, from gunshot wounds to burns. This injury was nothing to him.
Maia frowned and insisted, but Cedric was just too stubborn. He guided her into her seat and buckled her safety belt for her. There was somewhere that he had wanted to bring her.
Before she could react, he was already in the driver’s seat. He backed the car out and drove off. “Where’s my mother’s jewelry box?” Mala had not forgotten what she was here for.
“It's in the glove box, right in front of you.”
Maia opened it and saw the wooden jewelry box. She carefully placed it on her lap.
She could not help but smile as she looked through the contents. These were all her mother’s and were now her most prized possessions.
After examining the box, she turned back to Cedric and insisted on driving. However, she also noticed they were not on the way to Cloud Nine Residence or Prismara Hill.
“Where are we going?” Maia asked.
“Wait, and you'll see.” Cedric smiled mysteriously.
Maia was more confused now. He was driving away from the city. Where was he planning to take her? After about 30 minutes, Cedric finally pulled over to the beach.
“Why did you bring me to Prismara Beach?” Maia asked as she stared at the empty beach. It was the wee hours. Naturally, no one would be out here..
“Since | was injured because of you, you should watch the sunrise with me as repayment!”
Sunrise? Maia followed his gaze towards the horizon. The sea and the sky were the same color, but a flash of red broke through the horizon. Maia was amazed as the sunrise at the beach at 4 a.m. became brighter.
Maia opened the door and got out of the car in a trance. On the soft sand, she smiled sweetly at the flock of seagulls. “The sunrise is stunning!” She could not help but exclaim as she took in the salty scent of the beach.
Cedric stared at Maia’s beautiful smile as he could feel his heart beating against his chest. If only others could see how innocent the famous business tycoon was. He was just like any other man when they were in love.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Nothing could look better than you.”
Maia’s smile froze as she heard his comment. She decided to ignore it and asked, “Why
sunrise?”
“The sunrise means a new beginning.”
Maia understood what he was trying to say to her. She turned back to watch the scenery unfold
She gently tucked some loose strands behind her ears and started calmly, “There won't be a new beginning for us. Cedric, | can’t love you anymore.”
Cedric smiled sadly as he replied, “This time, let me love you.
He was prepared to give it a try one more time. This time, he would love with all his heart, even if it meant giving up his life. He would not give up so easily.
Mala knew that was a vow. He would not break it, as he was a man of his word.
“Soon, | would be married to Nigel. Even then, would you continue to love me?”
“Of course.”
Maia could sense the resolve in his response. It was unwavering. He would let her marry Nigel!
She remained silent, knowing what he meant. Maia pretended not to notice and turned back to drown in the beauty of the sunrise until it was over.
“| want to go back to the Cloud Nine Residence.” She was worried he would intentionally misinterpret her words, so she emphasized her destination.
Maia walked toward the driver's seat and indicated she was driving. As she was about to open the door, Cedric stopped her by holding her hand.
Maia glanced at him, confused.
“Since you've found the culprit in your mother’s death, you should stop trying to dig deeper.” 1 Maia was lost at his comment, but it sounded like he was trying to imply something much more.
