The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1735

Mirabella wasn't exactly sure how Chester had gotten hurt, but she didn't push for the details. Instead, she turned her focus to Cole's arm. "Is your hand alright?"

Cole felt a wave of warmth from her concern. "It's no big deal, just a little scratch. Thanks for asking, Miss Mira." To prove his point, he gave his left arm in the cast a reassuring pat, though the pale look on his face told a different story.

Mirabella looked away, pretending not to notice his discomfort, and said, "I'll head upstairs to check on Chester first."

Cole let out a small sigh of relief and nodded quickly. "Okay, Miss Mira." He hurried over to the elevator, pressing the button to go up.

Soon after, Mirabella and James stepped into the elevator. As the doors closed, Cole's respectful gaze was finally shut out.

Mirabella rubbed her temples, feeling a slight headache coming on.

Next to her, James chuckled softly. "When's Miss Mira going to show some concern for her boyfriend?"

Without a change in her expression, Mirabella gave him a gentle nudge with her foot. "How about I show my concern with a kick?"

James just shook his head. "You're as heartless as ever."

The elevator chimed, announcing their stop on the eleventh floor. They exited together.

Mirabella first went to check on Chester. After taking his pulse, she felt relieved. Things were looking better than she had feared.

Then she made her way to Cassie's room.

Even though Cassie had donated over a liter of blood, his body was bouncing back quickly. He'd only been out for three hours before waking up. Despite being a bit pale, he was full of energy. When Mirabella walked in, he was sitting cross- legged on the hospital bed, engrossed in a video game with Wyatt.

The two were having a blast. Mirabella watched them, a teasing smile on her face. "Looks like we didn't take enough blood."

Cassie looked shocked. "!!!"

Oh great, he thought, I'm in trouble now.

Wyatt hadn't expected Mirabella and James to show up. He coughed, put away his phone, and stood up, nodding in greeting.

Cassie quickly tossed his phone aside and admitted, "Sis, I messed up."

Mirabella hooked a chair with her foot and sat down lazily. "Oh, the hero of our

blood drive, what could you possibly have done wrong?"

The tone of his sister's voice sent a

chill down Cassie's spine. Itnoveldrama

reminded him of every time he'd

been in trouble with the elders,

always preceded by this sarcastic tone.

Cassie rubbed his head and cautiously said, "You did promise to be nicer to me in the future."

"Of course, Mirabella nodded, then

turned to Wyatt. "My brother loves gaming. Could you set up some playdates for him over the next few days?"

bet

Cassie's eyes widened, and he shook his head vigorously. "No, I'm not y into playing. With all this

blood

loss, I'll get dizzy if loverdo it."

With that, he flopped back onto the bed, pretending to be weak.

Wyatt's lips twitched.

You didn't look dizzy when you were playing just now, he thought.

"Don't worry, some liver and onions will help with the blood loss," Mirabella said, her smile widening.

Cassie could only stare, speechless.

"Alright, keep having fun." Mirabella clapped her hands, stood up, and made her way to the door.

"Hey, sis..." Cassie sat up quickly, but seeing Mirabella leave without looking back, he turned his hopeful gaze to James. "Brother-in-law?"

"Your brother-in-law doesn't have much say at home either," James sighed softly and followed Mirabella out.

Cassie could only sit there, feeling utterly defeated.
