Chapter 234
However, Wren never imagined Ivy would be involved in the matter, turning it into an unsalvageable state. Disappointment bubbled in his heart-a disappointment in himself.
If he had realized it sooner or had not insisted on staying by her side, perhaps things would not have reached that state. Ultimately, he needed to make up for his mistakes.
When Clara noticed him watching her intensely without asking any questions, she focused on tidying up the yarns and studied the knitting patterns. It had been almost four years since she last knitted-her skills had become rusty.
Clara could only try to knit to remaster her skills. She wanted to complete the scarf before getting discharged so that she could give it to Billy in school.
After all, the gloves meant a lot to Billy. Clara wanted to restore it to its original state.
Katrina had so much on her mind that she barely slept. When it was finally morning, she got up and washed herself.
Seeing how tired her reflection looked, she put on some makeup to make herself look lively before heading to the kitchen to prepare a simple breakfast.
As she ate, she texted Carlisle, "I'll be waiting outside the courthouse at 9:00 am. Don't forget to bring your ID. I want this to go smoothly."
After sending the text, Katrina put the phone aside and focused on enjoying her breakfast. There was still no reply by the time she was getting ready to leave.
Katrina sent him another reminder before packing the necessary documents, including the divorce agreement, and drove to the courthouse. It was crowded due to the weekend.
Katrina did not book an appointment on the website since she did not know when Carlisle was returning from his business trip. Worried the slots would run out by the timez Carlisle arrived, she took a queue number and waited for him in the lobby.
Katrina waited until past 11:00 am, but Carlisle still had not shown up. Recalling
his attitude from last night, she frowned and went out to give him a call.
She dialed his number twice, and no one answered it. Annoyed, she dialed the third time, and it rang for ten seconds.
Just when she thought no one was going to answer it and was about to head to Carlisle's office, the line got through, No longer able to control her anger, she snapped, "Carlisle, is this fun for you to drag this out? noveldrama
"You know what I'm like. I won't change my mind even if you don't come today. You-"
"Mrs. Zachman, I'm Mr. Zachman's secretary," came a female voice that sounded as if she had just snapped out of her shock.
The secretary quickly added, "Mr. Zachman's in a meeting and left his phone in the office. Is there something important?"
Katrina bit her words and frowned, looking grim. "It's very important. Please pass the phone to him. I'll speak to him myself."
The secretary hesitated, and her voice softened, sounding unconfident. "Mr. Zachman doesn't like to be interrupted in meetings. Could you wait until the meeting is over-"
Katrina interrupted, almost losing her temper, "Did he tell you to say this? Tell him that if he doesn't come, I'll go straight to the office to see him. Don't say I didn't warn him if any rumors spread."
What do you think?
